A Kitchen Makeover Via Black, White and...Roosters? {Shelterpop}
May 6th 2011 3:36PM Yep... quite a change! From boring to completely bland! What is it with SO MUCH white! I guess if you like it, fine but this wouldn't work for me. At least some of the chickens are red. LOL!
A Colorful Kitchen Makeover {Shelterpop}
Mar 29th 2011 9:37PM First it was "heavy and uninviting." After, it was glaring and blinding! I do not like the color choices at all!! At least the wheelchair modifications make sense.
Help! My Boss is Flirting With Me {AOL Jobs}
Feb 15th 2011 9:09AM I do NOT agree with the "Not-so-subtle hint" approach. You HAVE to be direct and can be tactful but in no way subtle since this can backfire. Years ago a finance company that I worked for had an auditor that made multiple younger female employees uncomfortable with his subtle inappropriate questions/actions. One day it was my turn when he asked something I felt was completely inappropriate. My answer was, "I think that is inappropriate and none of your business." He knew I was married, as were many others. It never happened again and I worked there for 13 years. Directness is the best first approach. IF happens a second time despite direct approach, filing complaint with Human Resources.
The Diet That Saved My Life {MyDaily}
Jan 12th 2011 9:26AM That's why you get second opinions. There are good doctors and bad
doctors out there. Lumping all doctors into one group is not fair. I
am a medical transcriptionist for a living and primarily type for
hematology/oncology groups. Some years back, I did some typing for a
family practice doctor that IMHO was a major flake. Worst doctor I've
ever done transcription for. My opinion is the only reason this doctor didn't
get in major trouble is if a patient had something worse than elevated
blood pressure (moderate) or something generic(colds, sports physicals), this physician
would refer to a specialist. If the "generic" problem couldn't be
controled/fixed within a certain period of time, refer to specialist.
What was hardest, was when I came across dictation on people I know
and consider friends; due to HIPAA regulations, I can not say a
thing!!! All I can stress is SECOND OPINION.
W. Virginia Bill Would Yank Your Driver's License if Your Kid Misses Too Much School {ParentDish}
Jan 11th 2011 9:23AM I sincerely doubt this will pass for multiple reasons. I live in NC and if you kid misses like 2 days of school, you have to have a doctor excuse, and as one othe poster stated, lots of sick kids get sent to school. And, if you take a family vacation and take your kid out for 5 school days--even notifying the school ahead of time and obtaining homework assignments, etc. -- this is not considered and "EXCUSED" absence. Oh, then if your child uses up 10 days maximum in absences, including excused absences and regardless of keeping up grades & homework assignments, the child still has to attented summer school!! That's just what NC required when my kids attended school.
Another consideration also are the kids with responsible parents trying to do everything they can to keep their kids in school but the kid manages to sneak out and skip school. Granted, there are parents out there that could care less but there are plenty that do care but have kids that are simply headstrong enough to NOT care about themselves or their parents or their own future. I bet the same kids would also skip summer school, too.
Glad my kids are done with school.
66 Percent of Women Use Expired Makeup, Study Finds {Stylelist}
Nov 15th 2010 7:42AM Make up is a (relatively) expensive non-essential. (At least you won't
die if you don't have it, although some would rather die than be
without it.) I do wear makeup but not on a daily basis. I wish it
would come in smaller sizes so that I wouldn't feel like I wasted
money when I throw out an expired dated product. About the only thing
I don't have that problem with is foundation and powder. Eye makeup,
including mascara, and nail polish are my 2 biggest concerns.
Look of the Day - Nicole Kidman {Stylelist}
Nov 12th 2010 10:43AM Dress looks great but those shoes did not do anything for the outfit, IMHO. Her hair looks...uninspired to say the least. I've seen her look a LOT better.
The Battle Over Murakami's Versailles Exhibit {Luxist}
Oct 28th 2010 5:24PM Before making any comment, I looked at all the pics of the artist's work. To be honest, if I had taken a once-in-a-lifetime trip to France and went to Versailles and saw this "art" I'd be very disappointed myself. This "art" is too whimsical to be displayed here. Perhaps this art should all be moved to one area so as not to destroy the historicity of Versailles and yet still be displayed (like a large park or somewhere that more modern art would be displayed). Of course, I'm not sure what area that would be but certainly not with any of the antiquities on display at Versailles.
KFC vs. Popeyes - Our Own Blind Taste Test {Slashfood}
Sep 1st 2010 3:13PM Who cares about either of them.... I like Bojangles best!!! Their Cajun chicken is great!!
Then again, it all depends on the restaurant you go to --which completely voids all results IMHO.
5 Extreme Sunsets -- The International Space Station and Beyond {Asylum}
Jul 9th 2010 10:27AM If you read the comment on the picture it says "artist rendered" - meaning the photographer "made" it that way.
