Time Warner Cable loses HDNet at the end of the month, says "being in HD is not enough" {Engadget HD}

May 18th 2009 4:24PM Does anyone know if Brighthouse will be dropping them as well?

If so they're going to lose my 6 bucks a month for the HD pack unless they're going to replace HDNet and HDNet Movies with something worth while. Otherwise, what's left just isn't worth it. Especially since Universal HD has COMMERCIALS and shouldn't even be a pay station.

Samsung's slim BD-P4600 Blu-ray player gets reviewed {Engadget}

May 5th 2009 11:00PM What is it going to take for these people to just build wifi right into the damn player instead of requiring a dongle? Seriously, in this day and age, anything that has internet capabilities should have wifi capabilities as well. I'm not going to run an ethernet cable just so I can grab updates automatically or so I can use features I'll probably only play with for five minutes and then forget about.

How would you change Amazon's Kindle 2? {Engadget}

How would you change Amazon's Kindle 2? {Engadget}

Mar 28th 2009 1:40AM I've only had mine for a couple days now but so far I think I'm liking it. I bought two books so far. It's pretty easy to read though I wish the anti-aliasing on the fonts was better at smaller sizes. The menus aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be but they could definitely be better. I would love to see an email client as well as an address book and calendar...the ability to sync with the mail, address book, and ical programmes on a Mac and with MobileMe would be nice. Also, for PC users, syncing with Outlook or Windows Mail and Calendar too.

Also, the web browser is a nice idea but it sucks. If it was like Mobile Safari it would be awesome...scale the pages and have zoom and scroll options. Don't divide the web page into actual kindle pages...it kills the formatting on a huge amount of sites when you do that.

Also it would be nice to be able to change the font and add your own fonts...I would love to be able to download a sci fi novel written in the 50s and set the font for it to one it would've been printed in back in the day. And support for Unicode would be awesome as well. I can't believe Unicode hasn't been added...it can't be that hard.

PDF support of course, and EPUB.

Maybe an iTunes like programme—or even iTunes integration—for managing your books and whatnot on the computer. And the ability to add folders on the device itself instead of just having a huge all encompassing list.

Last but not least, a programme that would allow you to convert your own content to AZW format instead of having to have Amazon do it for you.

Is MOJO HD on the verge of shutting down? {Engadget HD}

Sep 18th 2008 6:05PM If it wasn't for the fact that I had to get Mojo to get HDNet, HDNet Movies, Universal HD, and MGM HD, I would never even give Mojo a second thought. I've been mildly entertained by a few episodes of Three Sheets, and I've seen the occasional doco on Mojo, but for the most part it has nothing interesting to me at all.

HDNet Movies, however, is teh awesome!

May 27th 2008 12:46AM You don't have to know him to know that not only is the video WAY too long but, yes, it doesn't matter how much cool stuff this guy gets he is incredibly annoying.

No Picnic: Man Charged With Screwing a Patio Table {Asylum}

Mar 31st 2008 8:12PM What's more disgusting than a man humping a patio table in the privacy of his backyard is the fact that he's getting arrested for humping a table in the PRIVACY of his backyard and that his neighbour, a peeping tom, isn't having anything done to him and is, in fact, most likely being lauded for "thinking about the children!"

AU Optronics builds "world's first" 16:9 24-inch MoniTV LCD for desktops {Engadget}

Mar 11th 2008 9:30AM Why hasn't anyone done this before?

I always wondered why computers were 16x10 and TVs were 16x9. I always thought it would make more sense for computers to fall in line with TVs.
