But I must defend PETA for exposing to the mass media animal abuse, exploitation, and cruelty, more than any other group, even the HSUS. There methods may be unconventional, but effective. BTW, PETA is not an animal shelter; this is misleading and incorrect information. And PETAkillsanimals.com is backed by Center for Consumer Freedom (http://www.consumerfreedom.com front for corporate lobbyists promoting tobacco, alcohol, and industrial farming, aka the meat industry, all vehemently opposed to any corporate scandals such as the recent Westland/Hallmark Meat Company exposé. The incident sited involved PETA interns taking animals from a NC pound, which were to be gassed, and euthanizing them humanely. PETA is not in the “business” of killing animals, as is the CCF. PETA does not masquerade behind euphemistic websites with the intent of deceiving those who lack intelligence.

Dec 12th 2007 1:33PM Why would anyone put a gun in the hand of a two year old toddler, and teach him or her to kill? Even in Arkansas?! With hunting accidents at an all time high, many involving children; the fact that an unusually high percentage of spree killers have a background of hunting; that serial killers have ALL tortured and killed animals beginning in their youth; why possessing guns and killing animals seems to be "all-American" entertainment and amusement, I repeat, why give a two year old a gun? Have these people no access to supermarkets? Or is the family impoverished? Was it necessary to kill this animal to provide food for the family?
