In 1941 Russia was our ally (along with England, remember?), so any help he may have offered is hardly something to get excited about.
Now if the former KGB agent claims Hemingway offered to spy for the USSR (post WW2, Cold War era) that would be different.

As far as I know, the legal drinking age in NY is 21, so it was
irresponsible for you to urge college kids in NY "to stock up on beer
and wine", in case the taxes should double. Shame!

Alcohol on college campuses is even more dangerous than obesity,
because its effects can kill or maim others.
