Next day air package takes 14 years to deliver {WalletPop}
Oct 6th 2009 11:46AM Yea, but UPS would only have to pay the value of the gold at the time of the loss. Back then it was going for about $350 an ounce compared to today's $1,041.00 per ounce - which is insane! UPS wouldn't blink at a $40,000 pay out - or even $80,000 (replacement cost.) The reason the guy doesn't remember what it was is because it wasn't the first or the last thing UPS lost of his. You ALWAYS remember what it was that was lost.

Oct 6th 2009 11:34AM I know some of the top brass at UPS. Nice people, but I learned EIGHTEEN years ago NOT to use UPS! And yes, I've told the folks I know with UPS that I won't use their service.
When the US postal service uses FedEx to get stuff to military personnel in Japan, you know something's wrong with UPS. But rather than use the postal service, I went straight to FedEx and instead of the 14 day delivery time given buy the postal service, it only took 5 days. I've used the post office to mail Christmas presents, paid extra to get it there on Christmas Eve. When they arrived two days late, the post office refunded me my total delivery cost, in cash, at my local post office.
The only time in 18 years that I've used UPS was one Christmas when the package I was sending was too big under Postal Service regs. I paid extra for the size and it still took the package 10 days to arrive when it was supposed to take 5.
Just don't use UPS....

Aug 18th 2007 11:11AM I have a very small dog and occassionally will bring her to work with me (usually when I'm driving out of town right after work.) I have a dog "purse" that fits into an oversized human purse into which I will place her. She stays in her purse unless she has to go to the bathroom or I need a break. I enjoy having her with me at work, but I never let her impact my work place.
I understand that some people have dog phobias (my mother has one) so I am very sensitive to that and will not allow my dog near people who I know have a phobia and I respect their feelings - not try to minimize them or their feelings.
