Thirty abandoned churches from around the world {Gadling}

Aug 8th 2011 7:12PM I love the old churches.....I would love to buy one and live in it. I just don't have that kind of money. The stained glass windows are beautiful and should never be left to rot. I'm shocked .....what's happening to our country ?? Why are all the churches closing up and being left abandoned ?

Protecting Our Kids From Obama's Subversive 'Eat Your Peas' Message {Politics Daily}

Sep 4th 2009 5:20PM In my opinion, this is what is wrong with our country's parents ( not all of them ). How can we teach our children to respect their teachers and the President, and other authority figures when the parents act like morons. When I was a youngster growing up in the 50's and 60's, I dare not misbehave in school because I would get the riot act from my parents when I got home after I had been sent to the principal's office and got the riot act from him. Now, the parents march themselves down to the principal and cause hysteria and commotion and threats of law suits because their little Tommy or Tilly misbehaved and was reprimanded. How can the children learn the correct way of behaving and socializing ? As far as the President advising the children to study hard, stay in school etc., I see nothing wrong with that. What would you expect him to do, teach them how to shoot weapons, or how to play hookey, or how to smoke and do drugs.???? What is he supposed to say ? He is interested in the future of our country and the children who are growing up to be citizens, doctors, police, scientists, teachers, etc. Would you be happier if he didn't care at all and not address our children ? I'll never understand people.

Was Obama Caught Ogling, or Is This Awkward Photography? {Asylum}

Jul 10th 2009 7:00PM My opinion:
Barrack Obama wasn't even looking at her. His gaze is down towards the ground. Leave the guy alone.
He can't even sneeze without someone making a comment.

Burger King Apologizes for Ad Showing Hindu Goddess {Slashfood}

Jul 9th 2009 10:14PM I absolutely hate all of the Burger King commercials. Some of the ads with that stupid King guy were frightening and now they are sketchy and drawing attention to inappropriate areas ( eg. square-butts). He acts like a pervert !! Who is doing the advertising for them ?? Need a new agency. I change channel when the BK ads come on.

Gaultier puts plus-size model on the catwalk {Stylelist}

Oct 6th 2006 11:43PM I believe that models on the runway are way too thin and anorexic looking. To me, they are not "real", and I consider them on the same level as movie stars and well known celebrities.
Personally, there is no one that I know that walks the way they do, or looks the way they do, or dresses the way they do. Let's face it, if we were walking or driving down the street, and one of the beautiful model-type people came sauntering past us all decked out in one of those runway outfits, we would do more than just a double-take. First of all, they are taller than the average person, with an abundance of leggage and weigh about 25 to 30 percent less than a normal person.
A good role model for our young children, I don't think so. It is much too difficult and stressful, not to mention, unhealthy, for a growing child (in need of certain amounts of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and other nutrients) to believe they must limit their nutritional intake, in order to look like the models on the runway.
The goal to be a size00, 0, 2 or 4 can be too extreme.
There are certain types of people who can attain that goal without any effort on their part. Then, there are others who absolutely cannot reach such a goal without becoming sick in mind and body, and developing unnecessary eating disorders.
It is very sad that people, and I believe it is mostly women, that must go through life feeling they aren't thin enough, or pretty enough, or tall enough, or smart enough.

On the other hand, this particular "plus-sized" model on the runway looks totally ridiculous. I believe it to be extremely degrading for that model to be prancing on the runway in such an absurd costume.
It's actually an insult to plus-sized women. That model was not just plus-sized, she was obese. She was not made up to look pretty. You mean to tell us that there was no other outfit they could find to bring out her best features ?? I don't care what anyone says, that was in extremely poor taste. In my opinion....they made her look like a Clown.

Plus sizes come in 14, 16, 18, 20 and larger. They did not have to put an obese person on the runway. There are beautiful plus-sized models out there, I've seen them.
Long ago, models were normal sized, women were normal sized, and men liked them. Growing up a size 8-10 was great. I was thin, my friends were thin at about 99 to 110 pounds. That was not overweight by any means. It seems to me that just about the time "Twiggy" came onto the scene, it all began to change and the end result is what we have now.
Children, trying to lose weight and stay thin before they have even reached puberty. They haven't finished growing yet.
Eating healthy is one thing, and I agree with it. Starving oneself to become skinny is quite another, and we must not let this happen to our children.
