Patricia Heaton Has Lost Potential Roles Because of Her Politics {PopEater}
May 21st 2011 2:40PM What? Keep religion in the church and the home! I say keep it in the church, the home, and the PUB, where you can have some pretty lively discussions about it.

Nov 24th 2010 7:49PM Alie, a comment like yours on a site like this only underscores how many really "stupid" people there are out there.
EXCLUSIVE: 'The Walking Dead' Episode 3 Preview (VIDEO) {AOL TV}
Nov 13th 2010 12:31PM You do understand, don't you, that this TV show is a metaphorical representation of the tea-party movement: violence, masses of grotesque, hollow-eyed zombies.
Deciphering Stephen Hawking {AOL Hot Searches}
Sep 3rd 2010 3:41PM Uh, that's not really a correct translation. "No" was substituted for "a" when the Hebrew Bible was translated into the early Bible versions--the Tyndale version, the Geneva Bible, the Douai-Reims version, et al. The error was repeated then in the still popular King James version, which many today are familiar with. The line should read "The fool has said in his heart that there is a God."
Which, of course, makes more sense anyway.
IHOP's New Diet Don't: Cheesecake Stuffed Pancakes {That's Fit}
May 8th 2010 1:06PM Well, given the prevalence of morbid obesity in this country, you and others with your attitude certainly don't need a break from all the "it's unhealthy" admonitions out there, do you? In fact the more often it's said, the better.
Comedy Central May Roll Out Jesus Christ Series {PopEater}
May 8th 2010 12:51PM STEVE MOORE says, "Waagtod, I am a Christion...I don't want to kill you. NO Christian I know wants to kill you."
Reply: Aside from what "waagtod" might possibly mean, you must admit that a great many Christians, although they may not wish to kill unbelievers, do take an inordinate amount of pleasure in imagining the atheist writhing in the flames of hell--in some cases their reactions verging on unrestrained glee at the prospect.

Fighting Irish Protest Denny's Potato Famine Ad {Asylum}
Mar 15th 2010 5:37PM The Irish lived, by and large, on potatoes under British military rule, with harsh English "Corn Laws" responsible for the export of corn, wheat, barley, and other grains to England, leaving the Irish with potatoes and little else, sheep and cattle already having been earmarked for export.
And Little Black Sambo, which--yes--originated as a story of an Indian boy (I have a first edition of Helen Bannerman's book), quickly in the 20's, 30's, and 40's, however, was transformed in subsequent editions and with various illustrators into a little Black (not Indian) boy, which is the image that remains indelibly imprinted on the American psyche. Yep, we can't turn our backs on all of history--just (in the case of a few of us) some of it to suit whatever generally political purposes we might have.
