Going Gray in Your 20s: What Stress Has to Do With It {MyDaily}
Mar 23rd 2011 10:44AM That's why I cut my hair short (2"), so that the grow out period isn't as daunting. When I wore my hair long, I couldn't stand having gray roots. Roots of any color are tought to deal with. To ease the transition to your natural hair color, do have light highlights added to your hair. It will blend the gray roots and help you get through the grow out process. You can even add lightlights yourself for about $7. I bought Frost & Glow at the department store and it worked easily, quickly and I love how my hair looks. I could have used highlights and not cut my hair so short, but I wanted to cut off as much of the over processed hair as I could.
Going Gray in Your 20s: What Stress Has to Do With It {MyDaily}
Mar 23rd 2011 10:35AM I'm in my late 50's and I just cut my hair super short (2"). I'm allowing my natural hair color to grow out. I've been dying my hair since I was 16 and I'm tired of it. Since I have tons of gray in my hair, each time I dye my hair, it turns out a different shade. Not to mention I have to re-dye more often, because hair dye doesn't stick to gray hair very well. I also wish there was a gray colored hair dye available. You can be purple, pink and orange... but not gray. Gray is beautiful and it would be fantastic if hair dye manufactures embraced that fact!
Jenny Craig's New Spokesperson is Ross "the Intern" Mathews {That's Fit}
Mar 16th 2011 11:52AM People need to realize that the "celebrity spokesperson" has a trainer they work with daily. Someone prepares their meals for them. They are being PAID to loose weight. If they had to use Jenny Craig's program the way the average person does, the celebrity spokesperson would NOT see the same results. I think it's very misleading by weight loss companies to peddle their products as they do. Just having a full time trainer would make all the difference; forget about Jenny Craig.
And if you are 100 lbs overweight, take responsibility for yourself! You can eat right, exercise and loose weight on your own, without a prepackaged weight loss program. It's not up to Jenny Craig to get you back in shape... it's up to you!
Also before dieting, decide why you gained so much weight. Most generally obese weight is a direct cause of an emotional issue. Solve the emotional issue and you solve the weight loss problem.
Frank Lloyd Wright House Available at Bargain $1.38M {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 7th 2011 4:58PM The home is lovely, but the houses across the street aren't million dollar homes. So if you pay 1.3 million for this house, you become the most expensive house on the block (regardless that it's a FL Wright home). It will take a Frank Lloyd Wright fan to write the check. With so many fantastic homes in foreclosure (super cheap pricing for mansions),
it will take a while for this property to sell at that price. I'm sure the property was an investment, which is why the owner wants to sell.
Looming Internet Sales Tax Prompts Amazon Threat to Cut Off Affiliates {WalletPop}
Mar 5th 2011 6:37PM If you have a retail business or a distribution center in a state, you pay sales tax in that state. But if you do not have brick and motar buildings in a state, you do not owe that state sales tax. If the states (especially, CA) would have managed their funds better, they wouldn't be bankrupt. 25% of all illegals reside in CA and CA provided illegals with social services that has bankrupted them. I'm really angry that the states are once again trying to feed off the taxpayers to correct the wrongs they created.
As far as "affiliates" go, all it is advertisng links on web sites to other companies. Every online site (AOl, MSN, etc) has affiliate links. Each time a customer clicks on a banner, the web site hosting the banner receives payment from the advertiser. Why should affiliates be taxed? They're advertising links... that's all.
Newspapers that run ads should then be taxed for product sold off those ads. The whole idea of taxing affiliates doesn't make sense. But it does smell of desperation.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas Scuffle With Paparazzi {PopEater}
Feb 25th 2011 2:12PM I'm sure Catherine Zetta-Jones would be far more upset if the paparazzi paid no attention to her at all. She strikes me as a diva. And considering she "negotiated her marriage contract" with Michael Douglas before marrying the "love of her life".... she no fainting violet either. Catherine is a tough cookie who gets what she wants.
Walmart Losing Business, Looks to Retool {WalletPop}
Feb 23rd 2011 12:16PM What I hate about Walmart is the store's layout. Cat/dog food one end...milk/eggs four miles across the store at the other end. I shop at Fred Meyers and they actually have better pricing then Walmart. Safeway offers huge savings with their meat sales. An item in Walmart's pharmacy that was $2.79 last year, now retails for $4.79, which is the same price being charged elsewhere. Even cat food is less expensive at other grocery chains then Walmart. Walmart does offer good buys on some products, but it's an inconvenient store to stop at because how the store is laid out. Which I'm sure was designed for "impulse buyers".
Teamsters Believe 'Son of NAFTA' Will Cost U.S. Jobs {AOL Jobs}
Feb 22nd 2011 3:24PM I would like to know how many Teamsters shop at Walmart and buy China made products? I bet you 3/4 (if not more) of the teamsters buy product at Walmart. The true problem is that people want to be paid American wages, but they don't want to pay for American made goods because they cost more. As the Teamster are crying foul with the new trade agreement, they are in fact as much to blame for the loss of jobs in the US as anyone else, because they support China by shopping at Walmart. It's hyprocritical at best.
A Makeover for eBay {BloggingStocks}
Feb 12th 2011 11:38AM E-Bay is way over priced in fees. We had an e-Bay store for years but closed it several years ago. It was outrageous the amount of money that e-Bay wanted for selling on their web site. In fact, we opened our own web site and sell directly to the customer. Our profits are up doing so. Another bad thing about e-Bay is that e-Bay will hold your money on a sale, even with a 100% satisfaction rating, until the customer says they received the product and they give you a positive rating. Who can afford to buy product, ship it to the customer and then wait two weeks to get paid? E-Bay certainly gets their money upfront. We went from loving e-Bay to loathing e-Bay. I try to steer people away from using e-Bay from our negative experiences.
