Apr 25th 2009 12:17PM Well, allow me to add my two cents. I think Michelle Obama definitely needs another fashion advisor. I realize that she needs to conform to a somewhat conventional look. However, conventional can also be classy, and sexy if the fit, colors and styles are appropriate for the wearer.
I have a big problem with the colors selected. Pale yellows, and purple don't suit her complexion. I would prefer to see her in royal blue, classic black and charcoal colors. I also have a problem with the fit. She is tall but generously bestowed in the hip area. Midlength sleeves and bustles exaggerate her forearms and the width of her hips. There are also times when the pants are highwaters.
The sleeveless looks have got to go. She needs to concentrate on the neck line as opposed to sleeveless tops to enhance her femininity. Those boatneck hemlines should be replaced with v necks and the pearls are unnecessary. I had hoped that she would rebel against that aging old lady pearl wearer style.

I just love your selective racism. Just don't forget, the "black" man who may hold the job of commander in chief is the child of a white woman and a black man. The same interracial couples that you are against has produced someone of whom you have the nerve to claim. Don't bother because to tell you the truth, had it not been for many black/white relationships people like you wouldn't be able to claim many victories.

Jun 23rd 2008 7:16AM Macy Gray and Jill Scott are light skinned black women. I tend to think that Macy is overrated. However, it is very difficult to find music from Jill Scott of whom I adore, in Europe. Whereas, Italians love Angie stone. If she is fed up with Colorism in black American music which does indeed exist, then she should pack and move to Europe. She would have not one problem.

Firat of all, allow me to say that I am a black woman living in Europe but born and raised in New York. For one, most people know good and damn well, when O'Reilly used the term Lynching Party, he was referring to going after her for her comments just as he would go after anyone else. It had nothing to do with her being black. Black Americans need to stop expecting others to walk on egg shells anytime there is something said that could remotely be associated with Slavery and the Jim crow era. As far as the quoted comments, There is no such thing as a black leader. We are a diverse group of individuals with variations in opinions, standards and political interests. Some of these people need to stop speaking on behalf of people that they don't know. We are not a small population of people. Blacks and Whites in America both work my last nerve with the hypersensitivity and audacity to blame others for their own insecurities.

Jan 9th 2007 3:06PM That is ridiculous. Skinny people don't have to worry about not eating to keep they're bodies tight. It is the average and fat people who have a distorted sense of self and such low self esteem that the starve themselves. I have been skinny all my life. I start out with a number 3 from the McDonalds value menu, a number four with no mustard for lunch and sausage Jambalaya for dinner. I don't cause people to be late. People are late because they are trying to be something that they are not. Perhaps if they would walk, drink water and move around instead of sitting around in the office gossiping and worrying about the way that they look all the time. Maybe they wouldn't have to starve themselves. More power to them, let's just hope that the train is waiting for the coroners office.
