Are Well-Educated People Always Destined for Better Jobs? Well, It Depends {BV on Money}

Mar 7th 2011 1:37PM Well, some of what you said is true and some of what you said is overstating. Yes, many jobs are getting outsourced, and many are from the middle area as far as educational background is concerned. However, unemployment for people holding a BA/BS is roughly around 5 to 6%, which obviously is much lower then the nations 8.9% average and dramatically lower then the unemployment in certain "sunbelt" housing bust areas. And you're lucky as well Dr. Watkins, a doctoral degree holding associate professor with tenure; most people with degrees actually have to work for a living.

Obama Budget for 2012 Seeks to Lift All Boats {BV Black Spin}

Feb 14th 2011 6:50PM @Obama's reluctance to initiate large programs for blacks has drawn critics, especially some members of the Congressional Black Caucus who have said that since black America turned out in droves during his election campaign, black America should see some tangible benefit from his victory.

Are you serious? Since when is the primary reason to exercise your constitutional rights only to get something back in return? So basically what your saying is that since blacks finally decided to vote, the government owes them money. Based on that premise the youth and hispanics of this country should also get a check since they turned out to vote in huge numbers as well.

Three Mistakes Often Made When Sending Your Kids to College {BV on Money}

Aug 11th 2010 2:30PM I disagree with your comments on higher tuition and staying at home. In many states, the public universities have been cutting classes, slashing enrollment, and increasing tuition dramatically. I am aware that you are a phd, and I am assuming you have done quite a bit of research in order to get there. However, you are making gross generalizations without looking into many of the reasons why more people are attending out of state and private colleges. Sometimes finance and business phd's could use a healthy dose of the social and epidemiological sciences. I'm just saying.....

Essence Editor-in-Chief Responds to Controversy Over White Editor {BV on Style}

Jul 28th 2010 2:19PM Magazines have been losing subscribers for years. Although Essence is directed primarily at black women, keeping other talented people away from the magazine will only hurt sales and circulation. The previous fashion editor was replaced because she simply wasn't garnering the attention and sales that the magazine needed. Her comments about the ethnicity of the incoming editor were unfounded and simply served to deflect from the true issure, that she was a sub-par fashion editor.

Church Erects Jesus Painting With a Foot-Tall Penis {Asylum}

Apr 16th 2010 11:44PM Nice try Dave. Your subjective semantics and logic are as useless as football bat. YOU know what I meant.

Church Erects Jesus Painting With a Foot-Tall Penis {Asylum}

Apr 16th 2010 4:20PM You know how sometimes in life you run across something that is so wrong, so unmentionable, and so depraved that only a reprobate would actually cross the line and examine it deeper. Yeah, this is one of those moments. Congrats Asylum.

Hot or Not: Alicia Keys {BV Hair Talk}

Mar 17th 2010 7:07PM To be honest, Ms. Keys just doesn't fire all eight of my cylinders. Sure she is very talented and has a great smile, but she is a bit hippy in all the wrong places. Plus, her personality is about as exciting as a booster shot. By the way, does anyone else thing that that new boyfriend of hers looks like a slightly more ethnic version of that douch transformer actor Shia Labeouf

Dr Boyce Money: The Capitalist Enslavement of Black America {BV on Money}

Jun 15th 2009 8:22PM Dr. Boyce,

Wow.. I fully expected your article to be full of rediculous facts and soundbites that I was completely ready to dismiss and foolish racial-pandering. But you proved me wrong. I completely agree with almost everything you are saying. However, being the closet socialist that you are, how would you remedy the choked off growth that plaques much of socialist markets of western europe? What about the 10-15% deficit they are accumulating every year? It seems that socialism has inherit drawbacks making it incapable of coexisting with a robust capitalist system.

Did the Rolling Stones Sing About Slave Rape? {Blackvoices Main}

Apr 29th 2009 1:44PM The song was a guise for singing about heroin. They were heavily into the drug scene and "brown sugar" was slang for heroin. At the time the song was released, it was unheard of to sing about drugs so they tried to hide the true meaning the best they could. "Gold Coast" is a slight variation on the "Golden Triangle" of heroin production.
