Feb 4th 2012 10:23PM High humidity, frizzy hair, damp everything.. EW Florida is way too hot and damp for me. The worst is the bugs! They can call those things Palmetto Bugs all they want but those are giant freaking roaches!
Here in the Detroit area the housing market stinks. The homes for sale are mostly short sales and bank owned. First a house will go on the market trying to get top dollar. That never happens because everyone lost their jobs so then the home turns into a short sale to at least try to get out from under the house and the bank gets what's owed. That still doesn't happen so then the people have no choice but to just leave and the homes go back to the banks. It's a huge game of musical homes around here and I think it's disgusting that our government bailed out the greedy ass banks but they aren't helping US, the middle class people who are the back bone of this country! The poor don't pay taxes, the rich get breaks and we get the big shaft right up the butt! We get our jobs taken away, our homes taken away and the few job offers that come in are paying less than half of what we were making. All the utility bills are raising their rates and we're expected to just keep paying out the nose. The postal services are making their cuts now and pretty soon there will be a big load of people on unemployment again. Once that runs out, if they haven't found work, they'll lose their home and more bank owned homes will be on the market. I can't see this clearing up any time soon. I think someone's just trying to throw a little ray of sunshine by saying there's a turn around but we all know there isn't!

Jan 9th 2012 9:31PM Oh please! I've bought and lived in 4 older homes that all have lead paint covering our walls! Sure we painted over the old paints and we didn't raise ignorant starving kids that had nothing better to do than eat paint chips so our kids were never effected by the lead based paints in our homes!
We had asbestos tiles in our basement laundry room and didn't know it until we had a pipe break and our insurance company came in to evaluate the claim. They had to call the EPA to come in and remove the tiles in the proper manner which was basically sealing off all vents and doorways and spraying the floor with water then shoveling up the old broken tiles. I've been sweeping and vacuming those tiles for years. Nobody ever told us they were dangerous when we bought the home and our inspector never said anything either. My Dad was an electrician for the Fisher Body GM plant downtown and was made to clean some asbestos at the plant when it was closing. Him and his crew did the cleaning and they weren't issued masks or anything. This was in the middle to late 80's and since then, every single one of those guys on that clean up crew including my Dad have all died one after the other of lung cancer. GM of course would never accept the blame and we were all told their team of lawyers will drag it out and normal people just don't have the money to fight those big corps. We all know what happened! Even a doctor came into my Dad's hospital room and said, "GM OWES YOU BIG"! Six men and one woman all died of cancer and they were all electricians at the plant. It doesn't take rocket science to figure out what went on there. GM can go to hell. They killed my father along with a bunch of other really good guys and one sweet woman. This is what we have to deal with here in the Detroit area. People with no money have no chance against the big corps so they use us until we die and nobody seems to care. So yes, lead paint is dangerous but there's WAY WORSE out there than old paint on the walls!

Dec 28th 2011 12:52PM The banks are legal loan sharks! They are only interested in how much they can get and that was apparent when we tried to buy a home this past year. We put a bid on 3 different homes and each one took forever to hear back if they would accept our offer. The first one went to another couple even though we were offering cash AND the full amount they were asking. Someone gave them more so we lost out. The same thing happened to the second home and the third home we decided to offer cash AND a higher amount than what they wanted but someone came in with a higher amount than what we could give so they got the house. It's not normal home buying. We've bought and sold 4 homes over the past 26 years and know how the business works. Once the homes value took a dive, all bets are off. Nobody is doing anything by the books anymore and we lost out on 3 homes because the banks are playing games. Someone needs to look into the banking system and really kick their asses! It's pretty sad when our government bails out the damn banks but the people who are the BACK BONE of this country got screwed!

Here's a child that needs the play house for therapy and these bozos want to take that away? They said they'll let the structure remain for now... hopefully it can stay until the child has grown out of it! If not, then I'd find some way to ATTACH it to the home! LOL

If they give him some kind of reward that would be great but if not, something good will come his way because that's just how the world works.
