Aug 9th 2011 1:13PM When I married my prsent husband I kept my name. I told him if he felt we should have the same name, he was free to change his to mine.

When I married my first husband, I took his name because I thought it was a legal requirement. I found out later it wasn't, so I took back my own name when we were divorced. My sons have his name. Their wives kept their own names.

We're a modern family -- we all have different names.

May 8th 2011 5:10PM My mother passed away ten years ago, but some hurts never heal. I was raised in the 40's and 50's, and she considered herself the world's most perfect person. Naturally, I fell way short of her expectations. She would belittle me, constantly criticize me, try to run my life (even when I was an adult) and blame me if I was unhappy. She was very sarcastic and totally unsupportive of anything I wanted to do. I never heard her say "I'm sorry," either. I don't miss her at all.
