Feb 25th 2012 3:07PM I live in Virginia and we have had several locals fly out to San Francisco with their bicycles and ride home. One young man was able to take pictures using his cell phone and send them to a small local newspaper who published them along with stories about his experiences. Although he saw so many things along the way, I was most struck with the generosity he encountered from individuals he met - some would take him into their homes and offer him a warm bed to sleep in or feed him a home cooked meal, others would merely spend time with him talking about their lives. With so much bad going on in the news, it was refreshing to hear there was a lot of kindness being spread around, too.

It baffles me why women feel they have to knock each other down so much. I guess it's the annonimity of the internet that gives a lot of people the courage to say things they wouldn't necessarily say in person. You're nothing but a cyber bully. I suspect you wouldn't go up to a size 2 woman in person and tell her that she has fat thighs. If you did, probably everyone within earshot would raise their eyebrows and shake their heads and call you nuts.

Good for Anni for not saying yes to a relationship that wasn't right because if it resulted in unhappiness and instability for her children then she, indeed, made the right choices for herself and for her children. There are already too many children being raised in dysfunctional families.

As for you, Anni, you sound very happy that you chose to have your children and not make a choice others might have made in that regard. I'm happy for you. It's too bad others feel they have to judge you for that decision. However, I suspect if you had made a different decision than the one you did, those same people judging you now for having your twins and not being married, would be judging you just has harshly. No situation there because those with a judgemental disposition won't be denied their right to offer their (stupid) opinions.

On a side note: How stupid to think a woman needs to be married and/or have children in order to count in this life. I thought the world had evolved.
