Babies and first class: why is this an issue? {Gadling}

Mar 13th 2012 11:34AM Look, while it may work for you and your baby, most passengers can tell you that when there are infants and young toddlers on a plane, it is much more likely to be a nightmare than a reasonably quiet ride if you are near them.

I know you love your baby. Babies are great. But some children, in fact, these days, most infants and young toddlers, have great dificulties in adjusting to the strange people, loud engine noises, and pressure changes causing them pain. Then they SCREAM, and there is not a whole lot parents can do.

I am glad that you and your baby have had good experiences. But that simply is not true for a large number of traveling babies unless the parents are wiling to give them medications to calm them. And many refuse to do so. Traveling next to a screaming child is hell for the rest of us............much worse than loud talking passengers, seat hoggers, or morbidly obese people. Parents who knowingly travel wih infans or children who cannot cope with air travel, are really quite selfish. They just refuse to admit it.

The Minor Threat: Age-Restricted Communities Evicting Children {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 8th 2012 4:23PM While sad, it shows you why you should never expect to be able to join a HOA and then later tell them they should CHANGE THE RULES JUST FOR YOU................no dice. I would never buy a house or condo that had HOA restrictions, unless I knew I could abide by them. They are there for a reason.

If they make an exception for this situation, then they have to allow anyone to bring in other grandchildren or children. Thats not right for the other occupants.

Obese passenger forces neighbor on US Airways flight to stand for 7 hours {Gadling}

Nov 23rd 2011 7:25PM Totally unsafe.........if they had severe turbulance, the passenger forced to stand would most likely be badly injured or injure another passenger as he was thrown around the cabin. Horrible. The plane should not have taken off untill the obese passenger paid double the fare for two seats, and the passenger without a seat was fully compensated.

The $200 voucher is a joke.

Teenager Builds 130-Square-Foot House for College {AOL Real Estate}

Aug 30th 2011 7:58PM You really missed the whole point.....this young man has systematically tought himself how to build a small house.......while in high school. He did not have to beg his parents for the $12,000 to buy the trailer you suggest, and his little house is built just as he desires, with his own amenities. Kudos to this imaginative, bright, hard working young man and his family. He will go far.

Dad Who Let Daughter, 8, Kickbox in Aussie Match Has Fight on His Hands {ParentDish}

Jul 12th 2011 9:50PM The issue is not the participation in martial arts for this child........many children begin karate/judo/juijitsu at a young age. But kick boxing involves repetitive blows to the head. Even with a head protector, this child suffered a concussion. There is just nothing that can justify exposing a child to this type of trauma on a repetitive basis. We now know that repetetive head trauma and concussions lead to significant brain dysfunction later in life. Even high school football coachs know this. Her parents need to get real.

Neil Patrick Harris Announces Engagement to David Burtka {PopEater}

Jun 27th 2011 8:56AM Actually, if you observe nature, you can see plenty of male on male activity......cats, dogs, and horses are ones I have personally seen over the years. It is simply due to a different wiring in the brain. I don't know why people get so upset about others who are gay. Think about it...you and I may not be able to imagine a gay sexual experience, and that is how most gay men and women probably feel about heterosexual experiences. What is the big deal?

Expert: Roger Ebert's Own Ailments May Have Desensitized Him {PopEater}

Jun 21st 2011 8:31PM Oh, please, Ebert was just talking the truth. Sorry for the guy's death, but HE BROUGHT IT ON HIMSELF AND KILLED A FRIEND........ Ebert shouldn't apologize for anything.

AND YES, friends shouldn't let friends drink and drive. Obviously he either didn't have any real friends that night, or they were also equally wasted.

Mom With Stage 4 Breast Cancer Denied Custody of Kids in Bitter Battle {ParentDish}

May 11th 2011 3:43PM Unless there is a lot more to this story, the judge's decision seems beyond cruel. No one promised that life will be easy........the kids have lived with their Mom, and should stay with her unless and until she cannot take care of them. Make the ex husband step up to the plate..it would be far easier for him to get on a plane every month, than for the stage 4 cancer fighter to do so. I really don't get it. The children will be guilt ridden later when they realize they essentially were forced to abandon their very ill mother because their father colluded with the judge and a well meaning medical professional who did not use common sense.

What not to do on your safari {Gadling}

May 3rd 2011 2:30PM A conservationist who indulges in this type of nonsense?? Idiotic.

It is irresponsible to have made this video..............now a lot of poorly educated tourists will clamor for this experience without possessing her knowledge and experience. There was little of educational value in this video. Shameful.. Someone will get badly mauled, and an animal will be euthanized.

Yes, cheetahs are shy and relatively retiring, especially when compared with lions, tigers, jaguars etc. If she tried this nonsense with any of them, she would be cat meat. If she tried riding her bike quickly arond some cougars, likewise. Instead she played with a group of largely young immature cheetahs, with a few senior members. She was very lucky that they were well fed, and not desperately hungry and more mature.
