May 15th 2011 11:23PM -" If you have a cocktail the minute you walk in the door after work, or a six-pack when friends come over, you're "teaching" him that people need a substance to unwind or enjoy themselves."
I love the wording in this part. It's about as manipulative as it gets. I smell 12 step education here. Why can't it be that you're "showing" him that grown adults CHOOSE to make their own decisions? Just because some people don't know when to say when doesn't excuse extremist idealism in "journalism". Your kids can make choices that you don't agree with without it being disastrous. Alcohol will be in our kids' lives, regardless of any punishment that the impotent, control freak side of our psyche imagines up. Marijuana too. Be aware and communicate with your kids but trying to take control through punishment at the "pot & alcohol" phase of their lives is too little too late & will destroy any honest communication that might have happened after the fact.
Apr 5th 2011 5:43AM I totally agree. Personally I can't stand Micky D's food but if anyone blame's Ronald McDonald for our kids being unhealthy is a bigger clown than he is. Take responsibility for yourselves & your kids and quit looking for scape goats, people. Kids like burgers & fries without a mascot to blame it on.
Feb 19th 2011 6:14PM It's a good thing that football fans don't watch Oprah, huh? Screw Oprah Winfrey and her mindless cult of followers. I'm not "for or against" Vick. Couldn't care less. But I almost puked when I read that Oprah could make or break his career. Get a reality check, people. The NFL & it's fans don't give a CRAP about Oprah F'ing Winfrey. Too bad people can't think for themselves instead of waiting for her ego to tell them what to like.
Feb 11th 2011 6:35PM Are you kidding? What about Lady Ga Ga ISN'T a Madonna rip off?
May 30th 2010 2:51PM This is another impotent effort that plays on fear to make you give up your civil liberties. If prepaid phones become traceable, those who would use use them for illegal activities are just going to find another method of communication. They'll use stolen phones, pay phones, dummy E-mail accounts, etc... And long after the criminals have moved past this problem, you and I will still be stuck with it. I don't think Big Brother (yeah, I said it) needs to have their noses in everything we do. Whistle blowers and activists aren't the only people who deserve privacy. Just because someone screams terrorist doesn't mean you have to jump through the hoop. Start thinking for yourselves, people. If we're going to give up our rights and live in a police state out of fear, then the terrorists have won.
May 14th 2010 12:00AM All you High Holys need to tone it down a notch. Especially you hypocritical GUYS. If you've NEVER in your adult life found a single 16 year old attractive then you're gay or lying. She even said herself that he had no clue that she was a minor. What LT is ACCUSED of is unacceptable and extremely inappropriate but calling him a sick pedophile is a bit extreme. These days the difference (visually, at least) between a 16 and 22 year old is nothing but an ID card. You can't always tell by looking and I'll repeat: SHE said he didn't have a clue!
May 8th 2010 11:37PM Whether you're OK with homosexuality or not, there's nothing "Country" about it. Country music is all about old ways and family values. You don't have to agree with those values but being a gay country star is just about a contradiction in terms.
Jan 17th 2010 3:45PM You people are a bunch of paranoid idiots. The people at your daycares, that you pawn your kids off on, are more of a threat than this stupid dog. I'll bet you don't worry about strapping your kid into a car seat and taking them out into the land of drunk drivers/car accidents do you? You endanger your kids every time you do but no one judges YOU. Keep your ignorant, judgemental noses out of other people's lives.
Jan 15th 2010 12:13PM Julianna, where the HELL do you get off calling someone a pedophile? Anyone who can throw an accusation like that so easily needs therapy. You should be ashamed of yourself. People like you sicken me. Horrible accusations do NOT fall under freedom of speech and people should be prosecuted for making them. The guy you slandered sounded ridiculous to me too but it doesn't mean it's OK to say the most hateful thing possible about them.
Dec 30th 2009 2:54PM Isn't offensive and politically incorrect a normal part of comedy? When did Dunham corner the market? Richard Pryor, Carlin, Lisa Lampanelli, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Mencia,..... The show was pretty lame though. Much better on stage.
