Obama tries to shame banks into speeding up mortgage modifications {Daily Finance}

Aug 4th 2009 8:50PM People, for gosh sakes, if your bank tells you to stop making payments on your mortgage in order to get help or a modifcation, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM!!! By telling you to stop making the payments, they are deliberately baiting you and starting the foreclosure process with the very first missed payment.. and then you will be sucked into their trap so deeply, it will be next to impossible to get out and hold on to your house as well. Whatever they tell you, it's WRONG. Please use common sense and keep those payments coming if you possibly can, and don't fall for their dirty tricks! God bless all of us who are in this unholy mess!

Mar 9th 2009 4:59PM I myself am trying to donate a kidney to an Iraq war veteran who is Hispanic (I am white) with whom I'm a match--but the biggest obstacle to pulling that off is the fact that I'm facing foreclosure on my home.

The organ transplant team at WRAMC felt they could not in good conscience take one of my kidneys, then send me home only for me to be kicked out into the street with no place to go. I, however, refuse to give up on this veteran; I feel that I am probably his only chance at a real future. I have every intention of going back to Washington to do just that.

Hooray for Mr. Okafor and others! More athletes and celebrities need to stop being so self-centered and greedy and start thinking about helping others in need. This is a great story. Too, more of you need to consider becoming living organ donors. It's the biggest thing you can do for a stranger and it makes the world a better place to live too.

I am glad to hear your comments about Option One Mortgage because they victimized me when I refinanced the house my mother left to me three years ago, and it has been a nightmare since then! I felt that I was taken advantage of by the broker and OOMC as I am profoundly deaf. I am now facing the loss of my home, but not without fighting back in my documentary short film, "Predator" which can be seen at CNN's site, http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-15905

I have distributed it on CD to various outlets and our presidential candidates. One high-ranking elected official responded to it personally: Governor Charlie Crist of Florida, one of the states hit hardest by the foreclosure crisis....

Aug 31st 2006 5:45PM As a diehard Mac Addict from 1995 on, I'd like to see Apple win this one against Wal Mart. I've never liked Wal Mart very much to begin with and would love to see them get their comeuppance from a most unlikely opponent. Go get 'em, Steve-O and win one for us Mac addicts!
