We are a gay couple with 14 children, 5 are birth children belonging to me, 8 have been adopted from the foster care system, 1 has been placed privately. ALL of our adopted children have special needs, the least of which is ADHD, the worst is Mental Disabilities, ranging in the lower full scale IQ of 53. The children we adopted came from homes where there was rampant sexual abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse as well as emotional abuse. each of our children are wonderful gifts, that come with life time commitments. We are very happy with them ALL.

Mar 4th 2010 4:06PM Unless you are walking in her shoes feel as a human being for the things this woman has gone through as well as continue to go through. How would you cope with losing a child? I for 1 hope to never have to experience that pain. As a parent of 14 children, 9 of which are adopted with severe emotional baggage I fear this daily. The Osmond family have very strong religous beliefs, Micheal is with his Heavenly FATHER and will no longer suffer the pain of depression. Don't write negative things about a person you don't know !!!! Gods peace be with this entire family during and after the time of this loss.

Dec 11th 2009 1:34PM I as a man do not understand child birth, but as a GOD fearing human I personally feel that enough is enough. Yes GOD does give us choices that we are able to make. But I feel that after this many children that are NOT physically or mentally harmed that you need to make the choice to STOP. You should feel blessed that you have been given these children and leave it at that !!!! I also feel Jim Bob needs a hobby and leave his poor wife alone. You can see their love for each other with every show, but love can be expressed in other ways. Permit your older children to live a life without the younger children always in tow. I LOVE watching the show, but feel disappointment that the older children are raising their siblings.

Nov 28th 2009 6:54PM I grew up in Chicago in the 50's and 60's, we had to stop playing in the rain water at the curbs in the 50's because of polio, but never did stop playing in the dirt. We also shared drinks, tried to dig to China and lived a GREAT life.

I feel as if I am a very strong person but do not beleive in my heart I could live through the loss of one of my children. Aug 22nd 2009 11:27AM Jon and Kate seemed like a nice family when it began, now that it has expanded to NOT give the children any type of "normal childhood memories" it has destroyed them. Kate seems like a very abusive parent, why hasn't the state stepped into to protect the children??? She has yelled at them, emotionally abused them to say nothing of the spankings. One can tell Kate LOVES being in the limelight regardless of what she is putting her children through. We are a family with 14 children, 9 of which are adopted, with significant special needs. Would we want the world to follow us around? CERTAINLY not !!!!! Kate is an RN she can support her children without TLC, Jon needs to get his head back on straight and do the right thing for his family. Hire a babysitter and regroup as a family. Work together not apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!
