Confederate Flag Gets South Carolina Neighbors Up in Arms {AOL Real Estate}
Sep 27th 2011 5:15PM People need to remember that the Confederacy stood for more than slavery. Slavery was not even the main reason for the war, it was just the tipping point that started the war and the main change after the southern loss. There were differences between the North and the South that had many fighting, even those who did not own slaves.
The North was changing laws and adding more taxes on imports, which in turn made other countries raise taxes on our exports. Though not a problem for the industrial North, it was a large problem for the South which relied on other countries buying their goods as they lived in one of a few areas that could produce the products most of the year. As the North in turn grew, the South became poorer. Eventually the North tried to abolish slavery and the South, who was already struggling economically, decided enough was enough and tried to separate. Lincoln, the new president at the time, said they could not just leave the nation and that led to war.
Tim McGraw Drops Out of the Film 'Safe House' {The Boot}
Apr 16th 2011 1:04PM Well they aren't tough for just the middle class and lower class man. Everyone has taken a hit. Remember that he was living this lifestyle for a while, it is what he does. As when we took a hit it hurt our lifestyle.
Also, he probably pays a lot more for taxes than you do. The richer you are the more taxes you pay. In fact the top 10% of the income workers pay for 70% of the taxes in the country while 47% pay no taxes at all. So just remember they have it tough and they keep the country running and when things hit us hard, they hit them harder.

Apr 15th 2011 6:00PM Okay, stop talking and debating all the religious views. That is the point of America, you can view it however you want and think what you want without others forcing their beliefs on you.
We should use this comment space to look at what an amazing turn around a man had with faith, not religion. His faith was in religion, but you can find faith anywhere. It goes to show that you should never count yourself down and out because there is always a chance to get back in the game, you just have to work hard for it, it won;t come easy.
Also, he said he did check forgery and armed robberies, did he ever confront police about that or is he still a wanted criminal? Just some food for thought.
What's Cheaper: Staying On or Off Disney Property? Crunching the Numbers {AOL Travel News}
Feb 23rd 2011 5:13PM It is good for family's if you use it all. My family has used it once before, and I was a teenager who could shovel food down. We had the medium plan but the problem was we just had trouble eating enough to use all the meal plan. And the only way for it to actually be worth it is if you use most of your meals. You have to be careful when taking younger ones what meal plan you actually get. If you do not use all your meals or snack. And keep maybe 6 snacks and 2 meals, you are out about $70-$80 worth of food. And that is what Disney wants. They make a profit because a lot of family's simply can not eat all the food from the meal plan and they make even more money then what they would if you just buy the food separately.
What's Cheaper: Staying On or Off Disney Property? Crunching the Numbers {AOL Travel News}
Feb 23rd 2011 5:09PM This is a good article but I am just happy that my family has a time share 5 minutes from Disney. It is pretty cheap compared to this for 3 weeks out of the year and we get to take our car, and can eat in meals in the room (which is something they do not mention) and that saves a ton of money assuming that a lunch at Disney is about $20 a person and a dinner is probably $30-$40 if it is a sit down place. We also have a week at the Disney Vacation Club so that means we can stay a month with free parking and we buy annual passes which is the cheapest per day for anything over 10 days or so. So that gives us discounts and free parking when we are not on property.
Moral of my story, when visiting Disney, either make your trip short, 5 days or less, or make it long(greater than 10 days). Outside of that, the prices you are saving start negating the prices you are paying.
Nacho Cheese Leads to Disney Suit {AOL Travel News}
Feb 12th 2011 8:03PM Here is my question. Why was a 4 year old picking up the tray of food? I think because of that question Disney could easily win this case. The negligence was not on that of the Disney but on that of the parent. I would not let a 4 year old carry a food with hot food on it. It would be like letting a 4 year old trying to take a bowl of soup out of the microwave and burning himself. Can you sue the soup company or microwave company because you let your own kid perform a foolish act, no. So why should it be any different in public.
Also, an inconsistency that i see with this story is that Cosmic Ray's no longer serves cheese in paper cups. If you get cheese on your food at Cosmic Ray's, it comes on the food. They stopped serving it out in the open a year or two ago. So now it is actually on the food. The only place that I know of that still serves cheese out in the open to be put in the paper cups for condiments is Casey's on Main Street. So the story does not seem to add up.
If this family is smart they will take an offer is Disney gives one because their story does not add up and the fact that they let a 4 year old pick up a tray of hot food is something that the park can not control. It is something the parents should have been watching. Disney does their best but their are times where you need to watch your kids, Disney is not a babysitter.
Cheerleader Suspended for Facebook Photo {Lemondrop}
Oct 25th 2010 6:36PM I don't think it was right for the school to do anything. It in no way, shape, or form mattered to them. The student did not drink at school or at a school activity.
That is the problem with the world today, or schools today. They think that they have all the control over these children and teens in and out of school. They don't. They have control over them during the hours they are in that building and until they get home from the bus, or until they step in their car to go home. After that, the people in charge are the parents. How is that so hard to understand? There is a picture of me as a baby with a beer bottle to my mouth. Looks more like i was drinking than what this girls does. My grandfather held it there, it is a funny picture to look back on, my little hands holding on to the bottle on my grandfathers lap.
And law or not, a lot of people drink underage at weddings. It is hard to draw a case for it. There are times, law or not, they they can't do anything. I mean, in the kids own house her parents could give her alcohol ,and that is okay. They are her parents.
And lets face it. When they were growing up they were either okay to drink or their parents would kick their ass. It happens. They need to get over it. Realize that the parents raise the kids, not the state, and not the school. If this ever happens to the kids i have, i wouldn't think twice about a lawsuit if they didn't immediately change their decision. It is my kid, not their, and I think there are special occasions that anyone who is mature enough should be allowed to drink. And the biggest one of all is weddings. It is a time of celebration and drinking has been part of weddings for a long time.
SmackDown: Should a Kid Be Allowed to Scream at a Restaurant? {ParentDish}
Sep 10th 2010 6:56PM You know why it is wrong. Because we were all kids like that once. Why punish our kids for the same thing we used to do. As soon as you say it is wrong, you should smack yourself, cause you used to do it do, stop being mean to the kids of today and give them the same treatment. It gets worse with each generation of parents, like you have to raise your kids different than you were raised, and you always say growing up, i'll never be like my parents, and you all end up being more strict than they ever were. And as Walt Disney said, "You're dead if you only aim for kids. Adults are only kids, grown up." Same things works backwards, you're dead if you only aim for adults, because kids will be adults one day.
Jon Stewart Gets His Very Own 'Stewart Trooper' Stormtrooper {Asylum}
Aug 18th 2010 1:31AM This is so funny. Haha, i wonder if he gave it to his son. I saw them at Disney for the closing of Star Tours and got a picture with him after he got finished looking at action figures with his sons and daughter that is. Hahaha.
David Booth Taken Off on Stretcher After Devastating Hit From Mike Richards {Fanhouse NHL Blog}
Oct 24th 2009 11:33PM It was a clean hit and it fell within the rules. Looking at the video, remember it is slowed down so there was only a second or two between the pass and the hit. That means that really it was not interference. Also Richards did not mean to hurt the guy. There should not have been a penalty after this despite the guy being hurt. Unfortunately for Richards he is probably going to be suspended, but he should only be fined if anything because what he did fell within the rules.
