Dec 24th 2009 12:40PM No, look again. First he smiles and waves. He has a chip in his hand and dips it and takes a bite out of the chip leaving half of the chip still in his hand. He starts to try to make the V sign and does it pretty well considering he is still holding half a chip in that same hand. He seems shocked and gets embarrassed when his dad stops him, and he hunches over in his chair. Given the immediate response to his father's "correction", I doubt that the boy would have been a kid that would give the bird in front of his father. And if he had in fact been the kind of kid to do that, he probably would have laughed instead of hunching over in embarrassment from having been "corrected" in front of the cameras. Poor kid. The only newsworthy thing about this is that the writer is an idiot for trying to make this newsworthy. Nice going Ian Fortey! Nice going IAN FORTEY for giving such a nice Holiday Gift to this young man and his family. You are so kind and considerate and should be so proud of yourself! In the still picture, the boy clearly has two fingers up although at first glance, it doesn't look that way. In the video, he is smiling and waving at the camera and tries to put up two fingers to make the "V" sign for Villanova or Victory but is holding food at the same time.

Dec 24th 2009 12:02PM We all know now that the "peace sign" that everyone sees in the video and in the still photo is a "V" for Villanova and Victory. Open your eyes and look again. If you can't see it, you are blind! And for all of you who felt the need to jump on this little guy, Including the writer, Ian Fortey, maybe in the spirit of Christmas, you could give the gift of an apology to the little boy and his family!! Even his own father owes him an apology because while he should be applauded for his reprimand for what he thought his son had done, he was mistaken!!

Dec 24th 2009 11:48AM You are blind. The kid did not flip the bird. look at the still picture closely. Two fingers are up. And when the Dad reprimanded the the boy, the boy was confused and shocked at his Dad's reprimanding. Had the cameras picked up what was said next between father and son, I'm sure that the boy DID protest his innocence. The cameras cut out pretty quickly. Look at the boys reaction to his Dad. He really didn't know why he was corrected and if you can't see that then I am glad that you aren't my father!!

The child greets the camera with a smile and a wave and then throws the peace sign but has food in his hand, so the second finger of his peace sign is not quite all the way up. even in the still photo this is obvious, hence the child's surprise when his father stopped him from flashing the peace sign. Ian Fortey should make an apology.

Even in the still photo, it is obvious that the little boy has two fingers up trying to flash the peace sign and he has food in his hand so one finger is up and the other finger is up as much as he can get it up with food in his hand. The little boy's first reaction to the camera is a big smile and a wave at the camera, do you really think that his genuine reaction then switched to throwing the bird? If I were his Dad, I would sue for defamation. Shame on Ian Fortey.
