Johnny Jolly Suspended Indefinitely, Will Miss 2010 {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Jul 16th 2010 9:43PM Johnny broke the law. That's all there is to it, and he's going to pay the price, that's all there is to it. But, I know why Codeine is so popular, it's a painkiller. It hurts to play football, and it hurts all year long. I know that most pro football players pop plenty of pain pills on and off season, (altho most of those are Tylenol, aspirin and Aleve.) Pain is the price that must be paid to qualify as a short-time millionaire in the unforgiving, highly competitive world of pro sports.

USA vs. Slovenia Decided by Koman Coulibaly's Disallowed Goal (Video) {Fanhouse Soccer Blog}

Jun 18th 2010 9:28PM What? Yawn. The game's over? Bad call? Tie? Who cares?

Navy Plan to Name Ship After Late Rep. John Murtha Meets Opposition {Politics Daily}

Apr 30th 2010 10:24PM To call Murtha a "traitor" smacks of extreme partisanship. What, he was a traitor because he was in Congress? What kind of idiot reasoning is that? If Murtha took money illegally while in Congress, then his name does not belong on a ship. Sorry. He was by all accounts an honorable and decorated veteran. For that he should be honored. But he chose to mix it up in politics, and that has been the downfall of many a brave and honorable man. Just ask former Congressman Randall Cunningham.

Push Polling: Garbage in, Garbage Out {Politics Daily}

Apr 24th 2010 1:42AM The writer here is pleading with Dems and Repubs, libs and cons, to become informed and NOT participate in push polling and to NOT believe the implications in the push poll questions. After reading some of the blog responses here, I guess he's just wasting his time. Most of you are the reason why the spin doctors love push polling so much, you're just great bags of hot air waiting for next breeze to blow you one way or the other. As for the Tea Partiers, they are not racists, they are not fascists, they are not modern day Minute Men or angry reformers. They are Republicans. Simply Republicans.

Peyton One of the Greats? Not Quite {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Feb 9th 2010 12:10AM I am one of those purists who believes that you can't talk about quarterback greats unless the quarterback's career is over. Right now, Montana and Bradshaw (yes, and Graham) stand head and shoulders above other quarterbacks because not only did they play great on great teams, but they knew how to lead those teams to victory in key games. Let's give Peyton Manning some time, like the rest of his career, before judging him. Who knows? His future performances may blot out that one bad Super Bowl throw. In fact, a future sports trivia question may be: "Against which team did Peyton Manning lose in a Super Bowl?"

Roe v. Wade Supporter Scott Brown, Improbable Pro-Life Hero {Politics Daily}

Jan 24th 2010 10:13AM Abortion is a medical procedure, used often to save the lives of mothers. I personally know at least two women who would have died if they had been forced to go to term. Abortion saves lives, and will as long as America's prenatal care remains in the Dark Ages, compared to other Industrialized Nations.

France's Proposed Burqa Ban: Why Americans Might Want to Consider It Too {Politics Daily}

Jan 22nd 2010 11:25AM Man, I can't believe the right wing fascists who want to interpose themselves between a woman and her religious beliefs. The burqa is none of government's business. It's right there in the First Amendment of the Constitution. You know, the U.S. Constitution, the document that most right wingnuts pretend doesn't exist even while they're trying to "save" America. Limitations can be placed on a burqa. For example, those who wear one can't drive a car or fly on an airline (for security reasons.) And the face veil must be removed when individual identification is necessary. But ban the burqa today, and these rightwing extremists will then begin butting their ideology into other religious beliefs. (Hey, these morons tried to rewrite the Bible not too long ago, because they thought the Holy Book was "too liberal.")

Is 'Avatar' Racist? {Moviefone Blog}

Jan 17th 2010 2:45AM I wasn't thinking about racism at the time, but while I was watching the movie, I was wondering, why wasn't the Worthington character either an American Indian or a black? By the time of the movie, I would hope that discrimination based on culture or color would be a thing of the past, but it would have been an interesting exploration of the memories of the past heavy-handedness of the "civilized" world to have an Earth hero who still had cultural memories of the "improvements" and "civilization" his ancestors had to endure and that were now being thrust down the throats of Pandora's natives.

Walmart To Greeter: Fight With Customer, Lose Your Job {AOL Jobs}

Jan 12th 2010 11:01PM You're caught in a catch 22. Yeah, the guy's a greeter, not security, but the thief walked right by him. Wanna guess what management would have said if he had let the perp waltz by? "You're fired for not protecting company property." What the hell, they were probably looking for a way to cut back on personnel this week, anyway.

Republic Airways CEO insults Milwaukee {WalletPop}

Dec 29th 2009 1:52PM Ah, Barbara. I too am a native Milwaukeean, and everything you say about the city is absolutely true. Most of those who visit are impressed by its cleanliness and the ease of transportation. Unfortunately, for the last 150 years, Milwaukee has been way too close to Chicago, city of big egos and even bigger pockets. Add Minneapolis to the west and St. Louis to the south and Milwaukee is overshadowed by a triangle of influence where money and recognition flows to each of the three points. And so, unthinking, uneducated and boorish rich folk like Bryan Bedford have no idea what's in Milwaukee, because to him, it's just flyover territory. Still, this is a good thing. Milwaukee remains a secret, discovered only by those willing to visit. It keeps out those who want to use it as a punchline for cheap jokes.
