Dec 17th 2010 11:05PM I'm all in favor of men (well, people) wearing clothes that are attractive, reasonably sexy, and tasteful... but not actually disturbing. That's why you need a better picture from the front! After all that discussion, the photos are anticlimactic, because they hardly show The Bulge at all. How are we supposed to figure out if the Jeggings actually do reveal "way too much"?

Other than that unresolved question, the pants look fine to me, actually very normal. Wear them if you like them, don't if you don't. That's sort of a civil right these days - for either sex - don't you think?

Also, try them for spring or summer. At least that way you won't freeze your butt off.

Help -- I'm Obsessed With Breasts {Lemondrop}

Mar 12th 2010 12:43AM Great post. I'm sure it's an instinct for men (and often women too) to look at breasts. Clearly that's part of the evolutionary value of breasts for females: their appearance announces the female as female, and as such they attract the male. Prominent breasts are not necessary for lactation; in that duty, small ones work just fine. Also, as infants, we must find the mother's breast in order to get nourishment and survive! If that doesn't confer evolutionary advantage to a breast-seeking behavior, I don't know what would.

The trick is to learn to look hard and memorize an image of whatever attracts us about another person's body, then study the image in our minds. It's less obtrusive, and actually more satisfying once you learn how to capture the whole picture with one intense look. Then close your eyes and see more than you might expect.

I learned that trick when I was 12 years old, from a girl we boys loved to stare at. She would say, "Take a picture, it lasts longer." Many years later I finally figured out how to follow her wise advice.

Oct 25th 2009 8:06AM I agree it's incorrect to say that contrails contribute to climate change. Rather, it's the jet exhaust that does so. Consider that each long-distance hop uses some two tons of jet fuel. For the relatively long-chain hydrocarbons which constitute the fuel, almost all the mass burned is released as CO2, at the same time the combustion is removing oxygen from the atmosphere to provide the two oxygens in each CO2 molecule. Add to this the scary fact that all this CO2 is injected directly into a vulnerable part of our atmosphere, more than 6 miles above Earth's surface.
