Feb 22nd 2011 3:39PM I'll bet his grades turn around a little quicker now...I have a 9 year old in 4th grade who is in danger of not making it to the 5th grade...and he's taken the stance of "who cares??". It's REALLY frustrating, seeing as his YOUNGER brother is in 2nd grade and on the verge of SKIPPING 3rd altogether!! He reads at a 5th grade level, where my 4th grader reads at a 3rd grade level! I have instilled the understanding that education is of the utmost importance, and that they need to expect the very best from themselves, yet, for some reason, the older one still cares more about his social circle and recess than taking his grades seriously. I see nothing wrong with this mom's creative discipline. I like to see parents that care about what their children are doing, and have sense enough to handle things when the kid starts to "slip".

Aug 20th 2010 2:36PM I have a 7 and 9 year old...both BOYS. They both wear skinny jeans! I even purchase them from the girls section...they are cheaper, and have stretch too...I think they look really cute on them...with a pair of Vans, or Chucks! It's just "the look" these days...no different than when I was little and wore neon leggings, leg warmers and jelly shoes! It's got nothing to do with squashing self-esteem...they're PANTS people. Let's not make a big ol' deal about it.

Mar 30th 2010 12:34PM You can't panic about kids...you gotta go with the flow! If you can't learn to chill out in times of major chaos, you'll be bonkers by the time they're 2! Kids are born to do the most random and senseless things, at the most inconvenient of times...that's what makes them so much fun. You HAVE to be able to laugh and roll with it.
