Picky Eaters: Pathological or Just Particular? {ParentDish}

Jan 9th 2011 1:43AM Every person on this earth has foods they don't like, wether it's a fairly universally hated food like liver, or something most people enjoy like pizza. Kids are no different than adults in that they will have their own tastes, and their own opinions and ideas. As long as what they do eat is healthy, and you aren't letting them chow down on junk all day, no one should worry about it but their parents. I have one child that will at least try whatever you put in front of him, (and at times has eaten things that made him want to puke just so he wouldn't hurt my feelings by saying he didn't like it) and my youngest used to eat whatever I gave him. When he turned about 18 months old, he just up and decided he didn't like much of anything anymore. All the doctors say is "kids are picky" and "he'll grow out of it." I have tried making him go hungry, he starved himself for 4 days. I've tried forcing it in his mouth, he sat with the same bite in his mouth for 3 hours before I let him spit it out and go to bed. I tried bribing him, and he'd rather get no dessert or game time than eat the food. Even when he says it tastes good, he looks like he'll be sick from trying to chew it, so I really believe he has a texture issue. I just make sure he gets fruits, grains, and drinks V8 for veggies. He may end up a vegetarian since meat seems to be the biggest problem, but I have learned it's not worth the fight. It has nothing to do with being lazy, as I have tried everything I can think of. I just don't want to be the screaming crazy woman shoving meatloaf down her child's throat, it is NOT that necessary, and I would rather enjoy my time with my kids than spend it fighting over food. I hated being forced to eat things I didn't like, and I don't want to do it to my kids. Eating something you don't like won't kill you, but don't you prefer food that tastes good to you?

Vets Out of Work: Numbers are Up But Prospects are Good {AOL Jobs}

Mar 21st 2010 9:13PM You really should get your facts straight before you comment. There are no retirement benefits until you're 65 unless you serve 20 years. So this girl at best is getting a small monthly amount from the college fund program if she enrolled in it when she joined and is using it now.

Miss Beverly Hills Lauren Ashley's Controversial Anti-Gay Comments {Stylelist}

Feb 28th 2010 8:36PM Why is it that the desired right of gay people to marry should supercede everyone's right to free speech? This woman speaking her opinion on the subject is not grounds to get her removed from the competition for Ms. California. For all the preaching of tolerance, why can't they be tolerant of those who oppose their view?

Cake Balls on a Roll in Texas {Slashfood}

Feb 19th 2010 4:47AM I've been making cake balls for a number of years now, but never heard of mixing them with icing. I've always made them with sweetened condensed milk, refrigerate them overnight, then dip them in chocolate. Red velvet goes really good with white chocolate! I make them every year for valentine's day, and I give them away at christmas instead of cookies like everyone else.

Watch: Pink Gets Wet for Grammy Performance {PopEater}

Feb 1st 2010 11:34PM actually Pink has been performing this number for the last year on her tour, and had months of rehearsals before that to be ready for the tour, so she's in NO WAY copying Lady GaGa. and the outfit was made to look revealing without revealing anything. it was a nude colored bodysuit that went to mid-calf, so not really risque at all. although you gotta give her props for keeping in such amazing shape to wear it! she's always been incredible live, which puts her above many other artists in my book. too many of them put out good songs, and then can't sing live at all.

Drunken One-Night Stand Ends in Scarring, Etched Skin {Asylum}

Feb 8th 2009 12:12AM if a man did this to a woman everyone would be saying how sick and twisted he is and he should be thrown in a mental ward. why is nobody saying anything about this chick needing a straightjacket and a padded room?

Three Terms for Barack Obama? {Politics Daily}

Jan 15th 2009 7:50PM There is a reason that the founding fathers stuck to this "rule" even before it was added to the constitution. Eight years is plenty for anyone to be in office. As for "begging" Obama to stay longer, I didn't elect him in the first place. I am reserving judgement until I see what kind of job he does for the next four years, but I doubt that I will vote for him next time around either. I don't agree with most of his politics or policies he would like to put in place and can only hope that the Congress doesn't allow too many of them to pass.

RNC gives Sarah Palin a $150,000 shopping stipend {Stylelist}

Oct 23rd 2008 2:24AM as far as saying she shouldn't spend that kind of money during an economic crisis, that's exactly why those that have the money should spend it! someone has to keep the economy going, and if us middle class citizens and lower income families can't afford to, the richer people should. i don't hear anyone complaining about obama's spending (don't tell me his wife buys everything at discount stores when they live in a multi-million dollar house) and men's suits can be just as expensive as women's outfits if not more.

Is Tori Spelling creating an unusual necklace? {ParentDish}

Oct 20th 2006 2:06AM uh...am I the only one wondering why someone would save a pregnancy test? I was thrilled when I found out about both of my pregnancies, but don't need to keep something I peed on to remind me of how happy I was, I can look at my kids for that. And honestly, no child is going to pull it out of some hope chest 20 years later and say, "Thanks for pee stick mom." They're going to tell you you're gross and throw it away.
