May 22nd 2007 10:27PM Sincererly doubt it would happen in Okinawa. That would require the government actually spending money on people down here in Okinawa, which it really doesn't like doing.

Oct 27th 2006 2:11AM Okinawa is a hidden gem of diving in Asia, and indeed the world. It's got everything a diver could want, from colourful corals and sea fans, to fish big and small, to a WWII wreck and the famous "Underwater Pyramids" of Yonaguni.

A note about Maeda Point though - it's closed for the next 6 months due to the Okinawan government putting a pay car park in there and doing hefty renovations. I wondered before why they'd made steps all the way down to the sea!

Oct 27th 2006 1:46AM The Underwater Pyramids look stunning on photos and film, and I'll be experiencing them first-hand in late December when I take a trip there and Ishigaki to do some diving. I've been in Okinawa 2 years now and it's crazy that I haven't dived the ruins yet.
