Jul 8th 2009 4:32PM I wrote and successfully defended my doctoral dissertation on the First Amendment in Academia. In Tinker v Des Moines Independent Community School District, the U. S. Supreme Court gave First Amendment protection to students. The Supreme Court said the black arm bands worn in protest of the Vietnam War was worthy of Constitutional protection. If the school has a dress code but is lackadaisical in its enforcement of it, that's their fault and they need to correct the problem since they have set a precedent. However, until the courts decide otherwise, the child is entitled to wear the shirt per the Supreme Court's ruling in Tinker and it is protected speech!

Jan 24th 2009 11:41AM I always take a can of Lysol and spray EVERYTHING that my body will come in contact with. My brothers used to laugh at me, but that changed the weekend we went to a well known university for a football game and they came to the room our Mom and I were sharing asked if they could borrow my can of Lysol! I'd rather err on the side of caution then take the chance!

Jul 5th 2008 10:52AM Why is it that anyone over 30 who is not married is suspect of being gay??? Marriage is GREAT....if that is what you want. Others, like me, enjoy being single and dating when I meet someone worth my time, having a great career, being highly educated and able to take care of myself and borrowing other people's kids to exercise my maternal instincts. I have the best of both worlds. If it is meant for me to be married, it will happen when the time is right. If it doesn't happen, I have a full, complete life and I'm at peace and happy with where I am.

Oct 27th 2006 11:16PM Being an almost Halloween baby, growing up this was my favorite holiday. There was lots of candy and it was FREE...so unless it was something really cheap and generic, it was all good! Smarties are good, chocolate is better, but chocolate AND peanut butter is BEST!!!
