Report: Ford wins new trial in $31M Bronco II rollover case {Autoblog}

Aug 22nd 2010 10:41AM what kind of family drives around a 1984 Bronco? And they're expecting 31 million for an obvious mistake of the driver? Absolutely ridiculous! the vehicle is almost 30 years old!!! Let's say at approximately 15,000 mi a year, that is 450000mi already stacked on that vehicle!!!! If it was a regularly driven vehilce you'd have had to replace the WHOLE damn car at LEAST twice by now to even consider it somewhat safe to function! (I mean, let's face it they weren't driving a Honda) What kind of stupid system do we have that would even hear such a case, much less how stupid was this South Carolina judge who awarded this family 31 million? blow my mind how stupid our system is...things that a child could easily form the correct notion of 'duh' at are taken to extreme seriousness in this country any more. I'm sure if this case gets any kind of leverage we'll see a lot more hoopties rolling on the streets straight from the dump hoping to score too. Cases that should be thrown out due to involving ridiculous amounts of money are so easy to filter....number one question: Is the party worth this much money...ie, were they ever going to make this much money in theie entire life in the first place...easy decider right there. bet all but a small percent of crazy lawsuits would disappear. These lawsuits are like a huge welfare handout, that end up involving everyone's life in the end. Ridiculous!

Kids Fly Southwest Without Telling Parents {AOL Travel News}

Aug 13th 2010 3:03PM why exactly would the money be refunded Jennifer? I wouldn't be asking about the airline's policy (a policy is a policy and perhaps because of this occassion, RESPONSIBLE parents who might need their RESPONSIBLE kids to indeed fly alone will probably have a harder time now if this policy were to be amended due to this)-- I would be asking more about what kind of parents these kids have. Let's put responsibility right back where it belongs. It's very tiring when people expect everyone else to be doing THEIR job. Laziness and utter lack of responsibility.....that's what's wrong with this picture and prob a great many other ridiculous situations today.

Either you're outta your mind, lived a sheltered existence -- or you are someone who does many bad things like this here JERK, and figures forgiveness is deserved after you've 'behaved for a while'.

No there aren't stipulations for where a convicted dirtbag can live after he's supposedly 'done his time' - but it's not fair to people who live by the law to have some infidel come to live them and their families. Remember also - this guy was not a 'first-time' offender (which I don't really think even matters, once capable -- always capable)...he was a level III offender - meaning he's had numerous occasions of being brought up on the SAME charges. So yeah - let some freak like this move to YOUR neighborhood, but then you probably don't have kids or anyone you really care about, which is why you are talking about along the lines of cutting this convict slack.

I can't stand forgiving pansies!!

Mar 6th 2009 1:18PM Level III Sex Offender:
"These offenders pose a potential high risk to the community and are a threat to re-offend if provided the opportunity. Most have prior sex crime convictions as well as other criminal convictions. Their lifestyles and choices place them in this classification. Some have predatory characteristics and may seek out victims. They may have refused or failed to complete approved treatment programs."

This dirtbag WAS a predator.

Mar 6th 2009 1:07PM Why exactly is it that when someone does something to protect their selves or children it seems that they are judged more harshly than those out to simply do harm to INNOCENT people?

I'm glad this mother did what she did -- I feel for her that she had to do ANY time or that it will be on her record for the rest of her life (hopefully her employer is understanding). Vigilante justice needs a comeback. Especially in cases where perverted jack@$$e$ NEED to learn to control their nasty inclinations and perhaps just do the world a favor and rid the world of themselves. What the heck was he doing soliciting conversation with a little girl? Obviously he hadn't learned his lesson -- why are pedophile jerks like this given such light punishment...he should still be in jail, or they need to loosen restrictions on capital punishment for these kind of creatures. Courts appeal with sympathy to the 'woes' of dirtbags -- like an past history is an EXCUSE to do wrong. I'm sick of it. What an lovely country we have here. Government that babies felons and punishes victims and "future victims".

Mar 5th 2009 2:15PM Not every woman has a clear self-perspective. Sure they might think something but reality is something else. I have always considered myself older than my real age especially -- but to others I look a whole lot younger. No one believes me when I tell them I'm 31 -- even though I 'feel' like 50 (maybe it's the four kids).

Could be the race thing too, I've noticed that caucasians tend to age fast. I don't know if it's the tanning beds, diet, or what. I'm asian -- so some factor that could add to the youthful looking thing is most likely due to small stature, healthy eating habits, and overall a greater tendency to take care of my body. African-Americans, IMO, also tend to age slower....it's easy to mistake a forty-something for 20-something, and I have a pretty accurate eye. Like asians, those of african descent do not have a huge problem with wrinkles and their faces/skin remain youthful for a longer time (in comparison to caucasians). Guess good genes don't hurt either. I've never really met a caucasian who looked drastically younger in that sense. Totally, not trying to sound weird, just sharing my observations. It shouldn't be that 'aged' looks bad -- we've accepted this for men and find them attractive -- too bad it still might be a while for it to be acceptable for women. Glad I don't have to spend Booku bucks to keep my youthful appearance.

Mar 5th 2009 2:00PM You are right about the physical activity needs. Most of the people who would deny it are LYING TO THEMSELVES. If you keep up on staying in shape -- it really isn't hard to keep a figure void of cellulite. If this is a supposed 'gene' thing, well I tell you I have sisters and guess who has cellulite? Clue: not the ones who stays in shape (including yours truly). Yes, I have friends who always have something to say about my physique -- usual 'comments', but the 'way' in which they are stated some might consider 'something else'. I hate it when women are MAD at other women for being in shape -- anyone can be in shape. I'm going to say it and listen loud -- if you want a tone, althetic body, YOU have to put in the work in. It doesn't come out of box, jar, or even a surgery table (looks can be deceiving). I love being fit and having stamina to keep up with my four kids, oldest who is in his teens. It's not that I've had to work excessive hard to have toned abs, and etc...it's just that I never 'let myself go' like so many women tend to do. Women need to realize they are worth the time and effort given to themselves. I have 4 kids - and many people mistake me for a high school teen. I don't spend money on these types of things -- but I have to admit I was curious as to the claims of this 'new product' -- so many people are wanting to believe there are shortcuts to everything..........maybe to somethings, but def not everything.

Toddlers and Tiaras - The World of Child Beauty Queens {ParentDish}

Feb 27th 2009 8:16PM First, I'd like to say that in my opinion I find child pageants to be highly exploitive of all the young, coersed children involved. Actually me and my husband are friends with a couple who have frequently dash around the country to take their young daughter to pageants. She wins frequently - least from the looks of the tiaras decorating her bedroom -- most of which are way to huge to even fit upon her head. What EXACTLY she is 'being judged upon'.....(?) sure they have filled us in....but maybe I just don't get it. Or maybe I am someone who doesn't understand the mentality of driving across country to parade my child half-naked, with more makeup on than an older woman trying to look twenty, across some stage reciting/performing some 'cute' rehearsed bit to be judged by a 'panel' who I might add I would wonder what kind of people they are to not have better things to do with their time than what they are doing. Supposedly, they claim it's 'her choice'.....but I wasn't aware that toddlers are capable of waking up one morning and saying "Hey mom, can you sign me up for this pageant the next state over?" Suppose to each his own....as well to each their own guise.
Sure it's good to have confidence, but how confidence is gained is probably the truest marker that will eventually show if it is truly 'confidence' after all. It is not something that can be 'given' through a panel of judges.
No, I'm def not trying to tell anyone what to do with their child -- just sharing a small portion of why I wouldn't ever involve any of mine in such....as well as sharing my wonder why anyone ever would.
I'm sure there are many many arguments that can be made about reasons why....and from what I've read it seems to boil down to instilling growth of competition....(of what?).....showing intelligence....(maybe I'm wrong in thinking that there are many youthful forums to display such....Scholars bowl....Math-a-rama meets....gosh, even Jeopardy for kids, I've never really actually witnessed a beauty pageant where intelligence was a vital matter...).....I could go on...but I'm sure that there will always be two sides and never less than two opinions about this thing hysterically pinned "family-oriented, harmless hobby that instills important qualities like excellence, poise and confidence during such impressionable years". Do I even have to point out the flaws...the absolute hysterical irony of that quote?
Good luck to the kids.

Angelina Jolie: Octuplets Mom Creeps Me Out {ParentDish}

Feb 18th 2009 10:28PM Not on the tip - but let's be rational here. Angelina can pretty much afford to do anything in this world she desires. She's got that kind of money. This other chick was on WELFARE and had fertility treatments.

Oppurtunist??? Hmmmm....someone who doesn't need money and makes money to support a cause other than themself....I don't see that as oppurtunist - I see it as GENEROUS. Rich people really don't have to help -- actually they don't have to do anything to help anybody at all. I find it gracious that the person you are speaking of actually does. Shoot, even if I had all the money that woman has -- I know I would still be hard-pressed to be giving so much of it away. Call me greedy or frugal - but that's a lot of money we're talking about here. Just being honest.

Then you got this postermom for those who probably shouldn't have kids getting fertility treatments so that she can have them and taxpayers can support them financially. Come now, you must see a difference -- there is absolutely no comparing in the two. It's not apples and oranges at all!! WHoever gave her fertility treatment should def have their practicing license REVOKED. Maybe that doc should financially support those babies, since he obviously had no use of his senses when he accepted this crazy chick as a patient!!!
