Airline Hiring Back 'Overweight' Flight Attendants {AOL Travel News}
Mar 3rd 2011 12:32AM I have traveled to India on four different occasions two to four weeks at a time using trains, planes, taxis, motorized "rickshaws" and even driving myself. The country is amazing, with a wonderful people, culture, history, and heritage. The fact that their definition of a five star hotel might differ from our definition, or that their standard of living might differ from our own does NOT make them inferior, dirty, or less than civil. It merely means that we should be grateful that we are more materially blessed than most of the remaining 95% of the population of the world.
Yes, the population of the entire country of the USA is only 5% of that of the remaining world population, with the population of India more than three times that of the USA, all of these people living in a country within a total land area smaller than the USA. [It is the second most populous country in the world (over 1.18 billion people), more than a sixth of the world's population (which currently comes to 17.31% of the world's population). India is projected to be the world's most populous country by 2025, surpassing China.]
I said all of that to say that it is unfair to say the least to judge the culture or norms of one country based solely upon a limited understanding of one's own. One should never listen to the negative opinions of others and pass judgment on anything without having experienced it themselves. You really should visit India and decide for yourself. I think you would love it!

Feb 28th 2011 5:13AM Gluttony. It used to be called a sin. Now you can't call anything a sin because it might "make someone feel bad."
If the issue is merely one of preference, then who's to criticize? If it is a matter of moralty, then the issue is her wrong belief, and it IS up to society to at least try to educate her on matters of morality regarding health and responsibility.
Beyond that, the reality is you can teach a thief that stealing is wrong till you are blue in the face, but until he decides to stop stealing, there is not much you can do (other than catch him and put him in prison for it) to keep him from it.
Baggage Scuffle Causes Plane 'Mutiny' {AOL Travel News}
Feb 8th 2011 2:54AM It really can be a good idea if one sufficiently plans ahead, and definitely cheaper than paying for excess baggage of $50 (although not usually $25), but these double positive posts rouse sneaky suspicions of UPS employee involvement. Just sayin'. :-)
GMO Alfalfa is Officially Approved {Slashfood}
Feb 1st 2011 8:06AM Um, where have you been the past 40 years as longevity has INCREASED consistently over the years in our "modern" "evil" "greed driven" world filled with "poisons" "radiation" "obesity" (ok, that one is a real killer) and other such "dangers." We are not dying, we are living longer BECAUSE we are learning to tell the difference between the REAL dangers, and the imagined ones.

Feb 1st 2011 8:00AM You tell 'em, Mikey!
And the fat cats on wall street who are making all of the profit from the agricultural industry are NOT lazy? WOW! What a world we live in where those who live OFF of the labor of others are called hard working, and those who actually do the work are called lazy! Amazing.
Sorry, farmers of America (and the rest of the world). Some of us appreciate you VERY much. (Sorry about the cold. We heard from the "climate" people that it was supposed to get warmer soon.)
'Cocaine's Son': A New York Times Writer's Memoir of Growing Up With a Drug-Addicted Dad {MyDaily}
Jan 27th 2011 8:59AM Re: MsMike,
The author's name is Dave. The book is called Cocaine's Son! The guy has a beard. The writer talks about the author who "describes -- as a boy of only 8 -- how his dad..."
I think the person you are talking about is Amy Keyishian, who wrote the ARTICLE about and did the interview with the author of the book...who is a guy.

Jan 14th 2011 10:15AM From Wikipedia: "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body ..." (in some sources called "If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body ...")[1] derived its double entendre title from an old Groucho Marx quote. Songwriter David Bellamy told country music journalist Tom Roland that he regularly watched Marx's program, You Bet Your Life, where Marx sometimes used the quote while interviewing an attractive female contestant"
It's all recycled. She's entitled to use it as much as he was.
Phil Jackson: NBA Shouldn't Play on Christmas {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Dec 23rd 2010 7:42AM If there weren't people to go to the games, there would be no games, true; but if there were no games, there would be no people to be in the stands, either, and PERHAPS there would be more people home with their kids rather than the pursuit of personal plans at this, one of the three most family oriented vacation seasons of the year.

Dec 11th 2010 11:03AM Nobody understood Inception (including its writers), but that is the beauty of the film...so many possible interpretations. It is actually a VERY intellegent movie.
Noah's Ark Park to Open in Kentucky {AOL Travel News}
Dec 3rd 2010 11:31AM So, in the theory of evolution, how many dogs did it originally take to generate DNA code for the current hundreds of varieties of dog we have today? Would it be more than two? A male and a female?
