Feds Consider Limiting Potatoes Offered to Kids {ParentDish}
Oct 20th 2010 8:18PM Rather than eliminating the potato... what should be done is eliminating the FRIED FOOD ... it doesn't matter whether its a potato or a string bean or an onion ... FRIED is FRIED. Children should also be getting and trying different vegetables, they do not need to eat french fries or tater tots every day! Give them variety. Most kids, unless they have seen their parents try something and seen awful faces, will try something new!
Worried About Your Child's School-Related Anxieties? Here's How to Help {ParentDish}
Oct 11th 2010 2:04AM I am a preschool teacher, and I can tell you that we still have a few kids that suffer from separation anxiety. Some of the ways we deal with it are asking the child to come and be your "super duper special helper" for something you are currently working on, and only they can help you. Also I work in a school where we allow the parents to stay for as long as they need, because I have seen parents who have more separation anxiety than their lil one. My favorite has to be when one child will come up to another, give them a hug and say "dont cry, its ok".
I also think it is funny, that these kids who don't want mom or dad to leave in the morning, don't want to go home in the afternoon.
Airbus Looks at See-Through Plane Design {AOL Travel News}
Sep 21st 2010 7:57PM I am terrified of flying, and it has nothing to do with heights; but the though of everything being invisible is a lil more than alarming. How about instead of spending useless time of their creativity, lets think up ways to get better, more comfortable seats in, and stop squishing people in like sardines. All airlines want to do is add more and more people, regardless of how they then treat those customers. I can see it now... They think an invisible plane is awesome because they will be able to stuff more people in, let the plane become invisible, and it wont look as claustrophobic. If this is the future, then looks like just as I'll be hitting retirement and my 60's I will have to stop traveling by air.
Flight Makes Emergency Landing after Toilets Break {AOL Travel News}
Jul 15th 2010 3:36PM Exactly... I was once on a flight from Costa Rica to Los Angeles on a 747. About a 6 hour flight. About an hour in the toliets stopped flushing properly. Not truly a big deal until about an hour later, as more people continued to use the restroom. Then not too long after, the air conditioning system in the rear of the aircraft, where both I happened to be sitting as well the restrooms were, went out. 4 hours sitting next to the bathroom with no a/c was not a pleasant experience in the least. A few people actually fainted overcome by both the smell and the heat. I myself had to be removed for a time to a different seat as I had an asthma attack. As much as it was an inconvenience to these passengers, and as much as I hate the airlines, truly the airline did the right thing.
Airline fees: Please don't lie, don't be moronic {Gadling}
Jul 10th 2010 5:55AM Sounds great.... but ya cant really drive to Europe, Australia, South America, Africa.... just to name a few. And there is nothing like being somewhere to really and truly understand the beauty and history of both those places abroad, and your own backyard. And if you say, "Whatever, I don't care" then, well, you are just an ignorant fool.

Is the Name I Love "Taken"? {ParentDish}
Jun 14th 2010 9:13PM That is because many Jewish families follow the custom of naming a child after a deceased relative. This can include taking the actual name, the first letter of the name (which has become the most popular) as well as taking the Hebrew name.

May 21st 2010 3:00AM This is soooo cute! I remember when I was little the closest look-a-like dolls basically meant the doll had the same hair and eye color as you and that was it! Rather than having a copy of me, I would like to have a copy of my bf i could snuggle with when he isn't around, haha.
Give Gifts at the Office ... Without Looking Like a Brown-Noser {Lemondrop}
Dec 2nd 2008 5:25AM Happy Chanukah to all!!! While I do agree with you all that no I, nor anyone, has the right to censor you from saying "Merry Christmas" , I do disagree with a few things many of you have also said. I have never met anyone in my life that has responded positively to my "Happy Chanukah" in response to someone wishing me a "Merry Christmas". Apparently I haven't met anyone on AOL or something... The only time I have a major problem with receiving a "Merry Christmas" is when someone is obviously ignorant and cannot see that I am wearing either my star of david necklace, which is not that small, or another piece of obvious apparel or jewlery... I mean come on....
Cubicle War Is Hell -- The Greatest Office Pranks {Asylum}
Oct 8th 2008 3:43PM I'll admit it... I have pulled the Oreo and toothpaste gag on some friends last April Fools Day. 6/7 people I pulled it on fell for it and laughed vowing never to trust another Oreo from me again. The other person had seen the prank on the internet the night before and knew what I was up to, haha. I wouldn't pull this type of stuff in an office setting, but a dorm... pranks are an everyday occurrence, haha!
