Me First & The Gimme-Gimmes is a MODERN band, and they do covers for the most part (if not only covers), so that's most likely a cover. Blame whoever originally wrote and performed the song, not MF&GG.

That being said, his view on the Iraq war being unnecessary is fine, but his view that the South was right in the civil war is messed up.
However, is that actually one of his views? His picture shows a smiling black woman in the background, and if I were that black woman and that was his view, I certainly wouldn't be smiling.
