Battle Over Census Becoming Fight Over Illegal Immigration {Politics Daily}

Nov 2nd 2009 8:40AM I'm a liberal Democrat and native Southern Christian, but I say, "send all the illegals home!" They are taking ALL the jobs down here, and they will work for $5/hour, no benefits, so it's very popular to hire them. Manufacturers ship them in by the truckloads. First it was just the men, "temporarily," then they brought all their wives and children to take up all the free education and health care. They are draining our resources here in the South. Native-born Americans are out of jobs, send them home!

Can a Civil War Be Good for Republicans? {Politics Daily}

Nov 2nd 2009 8:33AM the crazy thing is that "conservative" Hoffman isn't even a Christian, he practices the Pagan religion!

Save money, die better: Walmart now selling discount coffins, urns online {Daily Finance}

Nov 1st 2009 3:27PM The funeral business in this country is the biggest racket there is - the average funeral with a casket and all the services costs several thousands of dollars. Why do you need metal containers to hold the decomposing remains of a dead body? Why do you need to be preserved? You are never going to need that body again. And, who thinks they are so special that a piece of earth should be dedicated to housing their dead body FOREVER? Cemeteries are such a waste of land, really, after a couple of generations, who remembers these people and visits their graves? Cremation costs just a couple hundred dollars, but the same thing can be said about the ashes - do you really think your great-great-great grandchildren, who never knew you, are going to take care of your urns? I'm donating my dead body to science. My children have their memories of me, and I will see them in Heaven.

7 in 10 Say Palin Not Qualified to Be President {Politics Daily}

Oct 28th 2009 1:15PM Sarah Palin loves herself more than anything - even more than she "loves the country and Constitution."

For First Time Under Obama, Majority Says U.S. Is on Wrong Track {Politics Daily}

Oct 27th 2009 11:50PM I do love President Obama and wish him all the best. as he says, "grab a mop!" and help him clean up this big mess (left by his predecessors) or quitcherbitching! God Bless us all.

No gasoline for me: MasterCard cancels my card {WalletPop}

Oct 27th 2009 11:49AM This just proves to me how the whole "credit scoring" system is a total racket as well as credit card companies in general. You have no control over who is allowed to check your credit rating and every time there is an inquiry, it lowers your score. Why do banks put so much stock into something that is so easily manipulated? You can owe no money, never miss a payment on anything, pay all your bills on time and still have a low score!

Race and the Right's Paranoid Obama Conspiracies {Politics Daily}

Oct 22nd 2009 11:58AM I'm a Christian Democrat, born and raised in Tennesse, and I can testify all the above to be true. Everyone down here (except the educated, which are few), is racist and believes everything they hear all day long on Faux News. If they find out I support President Obama, they scream at me, "But he's BLACK!" How could I possibly vote for anyone who is a black, communist, marxist, socialist, fascist baby-killer? The only issue down here that matters to anyone is abortion, and also God (prayer in schools, cheerleaders holding Bible verses), guns, gays and waving the Patriotic American Flag. It's scary! They all worshipped "W" the President (they all still have that sticker on their car's back window, right next to the "Palin-McCain" sticker). God save us all!

Pulling the Plug on Positive Thinking {Politics Daily}

Oct 22nd 2009 11:47AM I think she is right - all this "thinking positive" is not good for people - they don't want to do what it takes to be successful. The author's point is that people spend their whole lives thinking if they "just believe" it will come true, like a Disney movie, without actually getting the education necessary or doing the work to make their dreams come true. My husband has someone in his family who has spent his whole life chasing dreams, trying every get-rich-quick scheme out there, taping positive sayings to his mirror, reading endless self-help books, BUT he cannot hold a job for more than a few weeks and has spent his whole life spending more money than he made. He is now 75 and living in poverty. He is also a lying, cheating, scheming no good devil.
I think there is a healthy balance of living in reality, not being too positive or too negative. BE REALISTIC! Get the education and work hard, not sit around reading books and chasing dreams.
