Video: The Secret Lives of Car Photographers - Making a Lamborghini Murcielago SV look its best {Autoblog}

Mar 16th 2010 10:59AM I understand your situation. I think it would have been better to wait for a more creative opportunity to showcase your skills. As I said in a previous comment, garbage in, garbage out. I agree that there's very little that could have been done to improve that specific location. I'm curious-- what would we have seen if the car was turned 180 and photographed from the other side? Could it have been any worse? ( I can't believe the owner of a Lamborghini lives there.)

Video: The Secret Lives of Car Photographers - Making a Lamborghini Murcielago SV look its best {Autoblog}

Mar 16th 2010 7:04AM You're so right. All that trouble and time! Folks, here's a hint--you own a Lamborghini? How a bout choosing a background other than one suitable for a horse-wagon?

How about parking it in front of a nice house- it doesn't have to be a mansion- just nice. A Leave it to Beaver house is enough.
If not available how about a grassy field? Just nature and a beautiful car. Problem solved, no Photoshop and you've gotten some fresh air.

If the phrase 'Lipstick on a pig' ever fit, it fits with trying to make that lame background worthy of anything that pretty. People- choose your subjects and backgrounds well and USE YOUR OLD ANALOG EYES! You know, those squishy things on the front of your head. Computers are great, yes- but the old adage still applies-'Garbage in- garbage out.'

How to Introduce a Kitten to Your Older Cat {Pawnation}

Mar 10th 2010 6:50AM Always repect the old cat's territory- good advice. Go slowly. It took months before my old cat would share a bed with the new one, but imperceptibly they became closer each day and now it's normal for them to share spaces and run through the house chasing and playing.
For an example of what a cat goes through, search YouTube for 'talking cat' and there's a clip of a very upset older cat trying to give the young one a warning. If you search 'talking catS' you'll see a pair who became friends and have conversations.

The Language of Johnny Depp {Inside Movies Blog}

Mar 9th 2010 10:18AM I appreciate the compliment. We're dealing with an unbalanced mind here, so I'm done responding to him. Reminds me of JC on the Coast to Coast show.
If the US would realize that weeding out the false patriots and hypocrites in power should be the first order of business, we'd be on our way. Gradually, we've been so disillusioned that we're finally realizing that ANYONE we delegate power to needs to be watched like a hawk. Politics, Church, CEO, Law enforcement. We the people give that power and it's our duty to supervise it constantly.
I know celebrities will always stir criticism for political views but frankly, if they've done proper research, what makes tham any less qualified than your average TV pundit? I don't see any scholars in that bunch, just loudmouths paid to discredit others. Betcha I can find an aspiring one practicing in every schoolyard.
Yeah let's make America great again by putting our focus on the important values -IN OUR LEADERS! Most Americans are good, caring, compassionate, ethical people. We've just put our trust in the wrong people to lead us. We can easily fix it- Everyone call your representatives often and supervise their voting records. Let them know you're looking over their shoulders. Nag them. They can take it- believe me, the gig pays well enough. Stop being such a trusting 'boss'. We've tried that method and it didn't work.
Peace, J is G.

The Language of Johnny Depp {Inside Movies Blog}

Mar 7th 2010 8:26AM Zardoz, what can I say? You've obviously got issues. OK, I can understand that you have a hatred of France. Or at least of what their leaders have done. If we EVER are going to bring America back to being the world's respected superpower, we must get out of denial and admit that OUR leaders have led us in the wrong direction and repair is needed. REPAIR of America not HATE of America as so many have purposely confused.
Depp is taking advantage of America's free market system to make a fortune. Do you resent that? OK if you hate his acting, but supply & demand allow him to get rich. He's taking advantage of our right to free speech when he expresses his opinion about this country, like it or not.
He has the right to choose where he lives. By the way how can you string 'he craves attention' and 'he owns a Carribbean island' together into one complaint? Does one own a private island to bask in the attention of seagulls? Please clarify.
As for France's debt of gratitude to the US, granted. But this is not 1945. France AND America were totally different entities. Does the genocide we've been perpetrating in Iraq equate with the pollution of the ocean? Does the fact that we supported Saddam ('the new Hitler' not my qoute- everybody else's)and supplied the gas that he used on his own people equate to the fact that we, like France during our war for independence, saw his removal as a way to increase control of our interests (as evidenced by the contracts made to divvy up the oil profits). Yeah, we cared a bout the poor, suffering Iraqis. Enough to give them a lifestyle upgrade from 24 hrs of electricity a day to 4.
It's about time we stopped blaming the people and 'a country' for what a few thugs in control have done. And it's time to admit that the same thing has happened to us. That's why our own citizens criticize and why people move away from what WAS ONCE ( and can be again if we wake up) the greatest country in the world. .......
But Zardoz--comparing Depp to Hitler because 'it doesn't matter what he said because he said it so well'. Issues, my man.

Miss Beverly Hills Lauren Ashley's Controversial Anti-Gay Comments {Stylelist}

Feb 28th 2010 9:47PM I think we've got to stop over-reacting to people expressing their view against gay marriage-especially when they're replying to a question and instructed to be honest. If we're going to be accepting of sexual practices that the majority don't engage in, (which we should- whose damn business is it anyway?) it should be OK to tolerate opinions that aren't shared by the majority without crucifying people for their views. Rules of respect still apply though.Do anything and/or say anything, but be classy.

Carrie Prejean was asked a direct question and during that pageant at least, she never said anything impolite or abrasive. (Later is another story.) I think she answered the question honestly, and did say 'no offense' even when expressing herself politely. I think she dug her own hole later on, but at that event she handled the question as well as possible.

Lauren'syoung and still more a product of her learning, obviously a more literal Bible interpretation. To those who haven't matured as long, accepting something contrary to lifelong religious teachings is a very big step whether it makes sense elsewhere or not.
She will learn acceptance the way we ALL learn to get along with people we think are different-- by actually KNOWING those 'different' people personally, whether by choice or not. Then all the fear and superstition vanishes and we begin treating each other as humans.
Sooner or later she'll have a gay person in her circle of friends and things will resolve by themselves.
This rant isn't in direct response to you, Richard C- I just wanted a higher place on the list- Apologies. But hope you agree anyway.
