May 19th 2010 2:15PM One of things I hate most in this world is allowances. That doesn't mean children shouldn't be rewarded for good behavior. But they should help keep the house clean because they are told to. It's called responsibility. Adults don't get rewarded for making their bed in the morning. They don't get a quarter every time they put their clean laundry away. We do it because that's what is expected of us. Allowances teach children that it's okay to barter with their parents. So many parents I know tell me that their children will only do chores if payed. Children should do chores because their parents tell them to. When did it become out of vogue to be stern?

Apr 18th 2010 11:17PM So, if you're big on the hero thing... why haven't you joined the military? I come from a military family. My father was an officer and served in the Persian Gulf, and both of my grandfathers went to Korea. But they think people who fight for their constitutional rights are heroes also. Even if you disagree with homosexuality, she's a hero because she's defending the ideals of our founding fathers. Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, freedom of expression, the full faith and credit clause... what she's doing is no different than what gun owners fight for. They fight for the Constitution, for the Bill of Rights, for the amendments... For America.

Apr 16th 2010 11:35AM My aunt has advanced dementia, and if stem cells could've saved her memory and identity, I would've done whatever I could to get them for her. People value one life over another. I don't understand it. What I do understand is that Michael J. Fox is an inspiration, and a sign that God is alive and well; and that his angels are humans more often than not.
