Mar 4th 2010 8:25PM I am a visiting nurse and I see so many families using skype, talking to each other and seeing each other at the same time over their laptop or desktop computer..this is great when grandma wants to see the new baby, etc. I do plan to try skype myself as my grown children are scattered all over the US. I personally like MagicJack because you talk on a regular phone, even a cordless one, you get voice mail, caller ID, etc and you can unplug it and take it with you when you go on vacation..I paid $20 for the MJ and $20 yr for the service. I am required to have a cell phone to use for my job, but I pay $50 mo. thru MetroPcs (florida) which includes photos, webbrowsing, email, text, everything..In our area, a family can have internet only for $20 mo...if in a pinch, watch local tv channels, and watch some movies and dvd's on computer, use a local noncontracted cellphone co with the lowest rate for only what you really need..MetroPcs cell has a rate as low as $30 month.

Aug 15th 2009 1:19PM Marriage is not meant to be entered into lightly..it is a sanctity before God..when you marry without the right reasons, it will eventually crumble..people who begin a sexual life with someone before marriage are on a high and that can only go low..you have to get to know someone before jumping into any relationship..be each other's best friend, tell each other your secrets, laugh and cry together..make sure you are on the same page..once sex enters into the picture, the relationship stops and everything is built around sex..if you do the right steps to build on, the sex can grow and become great..with one person..when 2 people really establish that, they are there for each other forever, thru sickness and in health, richer or poorer, the extra added pounds, the thinner hairline..it doesn't matter..what matters is the fact that you each know you have something together that you have never and could never have with anyone else..TRUST..

Jun 15th 2009 10:47PM I am a reg. nurse and there is one word that is constantly being spelled wrong...RECEIVE...it seems some nurses never learned "i before e except after c, unless sounded as a as in neighbor and weigh?.. usually they write the ei backwords and write recieve...I can't help it but I go over it and change it to receive..I would like to say something but I don't want to offend anyone...what should I do?:

She loves her son, wants his happiness and for him to experience life as normal as other boys his age...Hey, I know some "Normal" 40 y/o's who still think they are 15... maybe there are some special groups for young men and women who has physical and mental challenges and he could meet a young woman that he has something in common with..Downs children are known to be the most loving people in this world..and he looks like a real sweetheart...and they have been known to be able to live on their own as well...I think everyone should support Mom's efforts and help this young man find the woman of his dreams....(RN in Florida)

Dolls with special needs cause controversy {ParentDish}

Jul 9th 2008 11:35PM I was born with a thyroid birth defect and have always had an ugly surgical scar on my neck shaped like a large Z..I have a daughter born with spina bifida with a scar around her whole back and abdomen. I have a daughter who has seizures. I have a son who wears trifocals to see. They are all intelligent children. I played with dolls when young. I didn't look like Barbie, or any of the beautiful dolls I had. But I loved to dream that I did and live in my fantasy land as a child. I asked my kids. They said dolls should be about fantasy, what you dream about, not reality. NO, I dont think the dolls are appropriate. Sincerely Becky (reg.nurse and mom)
