Honestly, I smoked through "High" School and quit at 18 when I developed Schizophrenia. I had to quit because it really made me sick when I smoked, mentally sick. It always amazes me how our Government will yank Vioxx off the shelf at the tip of a hat but continue to allow Tobacco and Alcohol to be mass-merchandised and promoted as our Nation's "cure for what ails us". Marijuana is no worse than the aformentioned yet remains illegal. Will smoking Tobacco or drinking excessive Alcohol make you any less dead?
Let's be candid for a moment. If these things are all bad for you, they should ALL be illegal. No more double standards please!
Live clean and enjoy your life more. Just Say NO to Tobacco and Alcohol too!

Jul 1st 2008 3:01PM "Customer snervice" is just a corporate ploy to make doormats out of their employees. Period. No one should have to endure the constant b.s. that customers dish out like they're "doing us a favor".
I don't make commission so fly/shop/donate to whomever you like, I don't care!!! I work in a Grocery Store and it's all the same. Corporate interests pandering to the lowest common denominator making absolute fools and charlatans of their employees. Customer abuse is endemic in our culture.
Customers are NOT "always right" anymore than the boss is "always right". This is a fairy tale to browbeat the very people who run the companies that net over-promoted trash HUGE pay and benefits not to mention the thrill of abusing people our lovely government has abandoned. Unions? Worthless leeches all of them.... Politicians? In the pockets of the elite.
This is a serious problem called "defining reality". 80 - 90% of customers and managers just dont' get it.
Reality is "you get what you pay for" and "there is no free lunch". So get a grip America, you are pissing us off!!!!

Feb 16th 2008 8:22PM I sympathize with all service workers. I work in a Grocery Store and it's also very hard. Most customers are pleasant but I've had one or two tell me "I don't want to be greeted" and so on. I play it off but really want to say "Why don't you tell management that so they'll stop whining about our low secret shopper scores"? It's madness wanting to help cutomers but being treated like robots (it's VERY unnatural) by managers fresh out of college with no real world experience. We (like waitstaff) are stuck in the middle of customer wrath and management bullying. The buck truly does stop with us. We get the fallout, the customers get treated like little angels and management walks away with the bank.

When Christians have delusions of grandeur and come up with faux truth (The earth is flat and is the center of the universe) they dismiss an entire religion as without foundation but when the so-called wise men in Science propose an insanity of lies, it's "ok". Ever wonder why doctors have malpractice insurance? That's right, they screw up!
Maybe Pastors should have theology insurance?
It's time the flawed traditions of Science and Religion kissed and made up. Neither of them has the truth "on lock".
