Being a "Wise Latina" is now a movement {Tu Voz}
Aug 11th 2009 6:13PM That's good that they have an acceptable voice, but excuse me, but where is mine????? If I were to print Intelligent White Girl on anything, I'd be beat up! I am a single, white, disabled, mother who raised three children on her own, when do I get to claim some respect??? I don't get it from my government!! And for those of you who love to accuse me of being another welfare mom, I did it on very little welfare and Social Security is not welfare! I had to work to qualify! From the time I was sixteen mind you! I don't mind giving other races kudos, but I feel I should be entitled to mine as well!

The Closer Kitty Passes Away on Show and Real Life {Pawnation}
Jun 27th 2009 7:57PM Unless you are a true animal person and have experienced the death of a beloved pet, you can't possibly understand the loss you actually feel. And the grief is as real, almost as deep as if you'd lost a two legged loved one.I was always a cat person and had not owned a dog until I was well into my 30's and a homeless person gave my young teenage sons a Rat Terrier that lived in the man's van. They did not have my permission when they took him, and when they brought him home, I insisted they find him a home. However before they could, I fell in love with this little bundle of pure energy and love. I had never lost a cat to death, the case was usually we had to move and couldn't take the cat with us, so after 5 years of living with Jack, the Rat Terrier I had no idea what grief a person could experience when a beloved pet died. This was my dog, He had anxiety attacks if he were left home alone and once when left out of his crate accidentily chewed his way through a broken window that had been covered with plasitc until repairs could be made. Mind you that window was about 6 feet off the ground. He was totally beside himself when I returned home. Luckily it wasn't for long. On other occasions if I left him outside with my kids if I had to run an errand, he would quietly sneak into the car and lay in the floor board until he felt he was safely too far away for me to turn around and bring him back home before he would jump up behind me, like ah ha, and you thought you were going to leave me! He had such personality! I know any pet lover feels the same about their own. The end came when someone drove me to the hospital in my car and I was admitted. They left my car in the parking lot so I wouldn't have to worry about someone coming to pick me up, and my neighbor was caring for him. The first time he let him out to potty, Jack ran straight to where I always parked my car, sniffing the ground, followed the scent straight down the drive way and was never found by my neighbor. That dog was looking for me! That made it all the harder when I came home and went looking and found him by the side of road, he had been hit by a car. People still laugh at me because the thought of that dog can still bring tears to my eyes. I almost felt like I'd lost a child. So for those of you who can't understand how other people can become this attached to an animal, I'm sorry for you, but please give others the respect they deserve for being able to love an animal that much. Their pain is real. And I found you can't just go out and replace the animal either. Another dog is not Jack. It's been 5 years since he died and I have yet to get another dog. I may someday, but I hesitate to hurt like that again. But, to be able to hurt like that only means I have a huge capacity to love as do all others like me. I think the show handled it so appropriately, they played it real.
Obama Finger Food, With Curry Sauce and a Side of Racism {Blackvoices Main}
Mar 17th 2009 4:20PM Ok, I'm usually the first one to shoot down the racist card, but in this case, I have to agree how people can find offense in this product! First of all it's disrespectful to any World Leader to be on the box of any food product, and yes, fried chicken is the old stand by food associated with being black. So, duh! It's just wrong!!!

Teach Your Children Well, Then Learn from the Little Buggers {ParentDish}
Dec 29th 2008 1:57PM My middle son had that sort of speech impediment until he was about 4. Though it was adorable, I know as children with this problem grow older it does become difficult for them. As they are teased by other children. It is reassuring to know however that a high percentage of these children do grow out of this problem on their own. This article does go to show that children deal with problems far better than most grown ups!
Hot Seat: Obama Solve Rev. Wright Problem? {Politics Daily}

I thought Obama's speech was wonderful and I understood the point that he was trying to make. Would it really be right for him to turn his back on a man that he has known for 20 years just because they have different political beliefs. I think what Obama did was honest and brave. Would everyone rather him come out with a bunch of lies? Just because people disappoint us and say things that they shouldn't doesn't mean that we don't love them or forgive them! Forgiveness is in the bible and I respect Obama for his forgiving and loving spirit I think that is what we need in the White House someone that is real and I am still for OBAMA. No matter what some of you hypocritical and judgmental people on here say. Obama is an amazing man ,flawed but honest about it! Can you really say that about BILLARY and MCCAIN?
To K-Girl
It's very obvious why you are supporting Obama and find him such a brave and honest man. So I won't state the obvious. The only thing I can agree with you about is that Obama didn't lie about his feelings for his pastor. Clap, Clap, but he let me know far more clearly exactly where his views stand and what he really is all about. And to be honest it makes me feel even more uncomfortable with this man. Especially with the possibility that he could be our next president. He attends, supports, and worships at a Christian church? Calling it a Christian chruch is what is hypocritical and he has been with this church for 20 years? I had irrational fears before because he has an Islamic name, the fears that speech brought to the forefront are anything but irrational! The fear of a racist president or a president that condones racism in a person he is close to scares the hell out of me!! If he were a white man and said anything remotely racist about another race, I would have serious doubts about wanting that person as the president of our country. And don't throw Geraldine Ferraro's comments back at me. Her statement was matter of fact. She was addressing his inexperience in politics and the fact that he is not experienced enough to run for president. She expressed the fact that if he weren't black he wouldn't even be in the race, because he is black is a novelty. It wasn't racist. But, for Obama to back a pastor, a so called man of God, who is so hate filled, and to have done so for 20 years, is hypocritical and shows me he has no place in the White House. If I had sat through just one sermon where this pastor said anything remotley close to what he has said, well, I wouldn't have sat through the sermon in the first placce, I would have ran from that church as fast as my feet would carry me. Appauld him for his honesty and his bravery if you must. But, a man that would stay with such a church for 20 years is a man who obviously shares their beliefs. He is the last person that should be president of our country! This is rationalized my fear of this man. And made me more adament to speak out against him!
Cat Goes Skydiving (YEEOOOW!) {AOL Video Blog}
Mar 15th 2008 3:45AM Are these people totally insane?? You could see the poor cat was terrified! I realize the film speed was a little high, but notice the cat looking around, quickly, like it was looking for a way to escape! Then, it's little legs were jerking, again, looking for a place to jump to, rather than out of the plane! These people should be charged with animal cruelty!

How did they clean the toilet?
How the hell did she clean herself?? Oh, I don't want to know. The point is he should have realized the seriousness of it. He should have had her committed to a psychiatric facility if he'd had the brains, God gave a slug! How hard can it be to figure out she needed serious help??
Asylum's Top 10 Occupations Inaccurately Associated With Sexiness {Asylum}
Feb 8th 2008 11:46AM There is nothing wrong with fantastizing, for men or women, but the important thing is to stay in touch with reality! Granted you do on occasion run into someone in one the mentioned jobs, that would fit this bill to a tee, however, most are more concerned with their job, than creating a porn scene on the job. Take teacher's for example, how many of us have gotten through junior high or high school and not had a crush on a teacher? I personally had a crush on a male teacher, (yes, I am a woman) and even went so far as to leave an anonymous note on his desk during class, and hid behind a book, peering over as he read it and looked around the class trying to figure out who had written it. I would have jumped on the opportunity in a heart beat if such had arisen, lol, and no I wasn't some slut, just very smitten. Luckily he never found out, but I knew very soon afterward that he was a teacher of honor that took his job very seriously. So it never would have happened! However, in recent news there have been several, shocking cases of female teachers having affairs with young male students. And by young I'm talking 13 or 14, not nearly grown young men. I don't know if it happened in my youth or you just never heard about it, but all one can think is the teacher is someone with severe mental problems! You can't blame the student. First what young boy would not be totally flattered by a teacher's attention in that fashion. You would think it would be the male teachers. Fortunately for our children most teacher's are respectable and sane. And most of us wouldn't have a chance in hell of playing out an adolesent crush. Even for the single male parent of a student would have little chance of scoring with a hot teacher because it would go against her morals. So, guys, keep on fantastizing, but keep it to yourself! And seriously, how many female cowboys do you know?? Go head with your dirty thoughts because most of them are models or actresses, or just dressing the part for the bar scene. Now male cowboys are free game, lol. To continue, take stewardess for example, gone are the days for the most part of sexy, young women, seeing to your every need. After all the sex and age discrimination suites, a good many of them are older woman and men. They are now trained in combat, for lack of a better word, and have no tolerance for an unruley passanger. I for one feel much safer on an airplane because of this! And please don't refer to them as stewardess, that is an archaic term and demeaning. However, I do personally know of one young woman who met a married celebrity and a very publizied affair ensued. I won't mention any names, but it was broadcast by every means possible. I will tell you it involved a sports caster, who's wife was a household name from a morning show. Though, their marriage survived, it didn't fare well for the other woman. So think twice before even considering getting involved with an airline employee! Now, most policemen perform there job as they are supposed to, but you are more likely to be able to talk your way out of a ticket the cuter you are. But, give one any trouble and it won't matter what you look like! A person can't help how attractive or unattractive they are and should be respected for their chosen profession. Most are professionals and would never entertain a thought of reacting positively to a come on. So be careful, and keep your fantasys to your self!
