Schwarzenegger Love Child A Common Thread? {BV Black Spin}

May 23rd 2011 12:38PM There are two things in this life that are certain besides death and taxes. Men are never satisfied and there will always be a woman who is willing to sleep with your husband.

Schwarzenegger Love Child A Common Thread? {BV Black Spin}

May 23rd 2011 12:30PM I remember Oprah saying that being married was not important to her, being asked was. And I understand what she meant. Every woman is interested in getting married, but most of us believe that is what we all dream of. Not true. I've always felt that "will you marry me" is the ultimate compliment that a man can make to a woman. That he thought enough of her to take it there. It's kind of sad for a woman to go through life and have never been asked, even if she told the guy no.

Should Sisters Be Concerned About the Super Bowl Pepsi Max Commercial with the Angry Black Woman? {BV on Money}

Feb 7th 2011 4:36PM I can relate to your post. And if I had a dollar for everytime I been told by whites at work, "you're so nice, not at all like I expected." When I ask them why, they don't know what to say. They don't expect me to be quiet, professional or know what I'm doing either.

Should Sisters Be Concerned About the Super Bowl Pepsi Max Commercial with the Angry Black Woman? {BV on Money}

Feb 7th 2011 4:19PM Whatever anyone thinks of this or any other commercial, the truth is a commercial is an excellent form of propoganda. I agree with a previous post - that most people aren't aware of how much we are "conditioned" through the media. Commercials influence what we should/shouldn't like, who is beautiful, accepted and what to buy. Sometimes it's subtle, sometimes it's obvious.

How society sees a particular group influences job decisions and other quality of life issues.

Why Oscar de la Renta Should Lay Off Of Michelle Obama {BV on Style}

Jan 31st 2011 7:29PM As Hattie so aptly put it, "Now we as black folk know she can't dress" however that is her style i don't care for it and a lot of black women feel the same way."

I suppose Hattie is a fashion icon and everyone approves of her choices fashion. I'd be willing to bet they don't.

No, I guess all of black folks don't know she can't dress. We don't all think alike. I can't think of a single person of prominence who gets a thumbs up on everything they wear. The truth is we all have our individual style and our First Lady is no exception, whether, we like it or not. I loved what she wore to the state dinner, but that's just me. Dark women look good in bold colors. You go Mrs. Obama.

Your Poker Face Can Cost You at Work {AOL Jobs}

Jan 14th 2011 7:47AM Plastering your face with a fake smile has everything to do with lying or not being completely honest. Lying is universal, not cultural.

20 Questions With TLC Singer and VH1 Reality Star, Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas {BV Newswire}

Jan 13th 2011 8:13AM One of the reasons why a lot of women who wish to have a significant other is alone is because of some crazy "list" they have. The other is trying to change a man. Chilli is one of these women. Now I'm not saying a woman should settle, but please . . . a list? And there is no perfect man or perfect woman. We all have flaws. Maybe she should ask herself what she can offer this perfect man. She will always be single, but maybe she can take comfort in the fact that she will have her list to keep her company and warm at night.

When 'Racist' Ads Attack: Black Folks' Hypocrisy About Imagery {BV on Money}

Dec 17th 2010 12:46PM If you are a member of a certain group, you can get away with saying certain things. If you are not a member of that group, you can't. Membership has its privileges. If you are not a member, you don't get a pass. Simple as that. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying it's right, but that is the way that it is.

That is why there was such rage and backlash when Imus made disrespectful remarks about the basketball team. When criticized, he cited a double standard (and it is) saying rappers make statements like that all the time and get away with it. Hard for me to believe he was that stupid though - pretending not to know the unspoken rules of engagement. He didn't have membership.

Look of the Day - Halle Berry {Stylelist}

Nov 17th 2010 9:15PM Halle looks good in anything. Mike probably already sleeps with his dog and needs to get his eyes checked. There is nothing "manly" about Halle's body.

Halle Berry Wears Fake Implants for New Film {Stylelist}

Nov 5th 2010 6:03AM I wonder what Polly looks like with her snide comments. I'd be willing to bet she doesn't make the "just ok" cut. And how is Halle more white than black, with a black father and white mother? How does that happen? And unless I missed something, who said anything about having to be white in order to be beautiful. Louise may look amazing, which I doubt, but your so called education doesn't excuse the fact that you sound pretty shallow. So what if you made six figures. Does that make you special?
